Fantastic wine from one of the best and most underrated producers in Sonoma County this wine exhibits some cinged herbs and underbrush, followed by elegant blue and plack fruit on the palate, finished with the classic spices. The main thing about this wine is elegance, it is far from heavy in nature but the flavors are terrifically integrated. Makes for a very easy wine to drink a whole bottle of.

    Real smooth and elegant wine that is hard to put the glass down. I started with the 2007 vintage (all online) and have been hooked ever since. It is not available in IL and when I can find it, I purchase it online. This vintage I bought at a DEEP discount and I was giddy when I came across it. Enjoy!

Aerated and decanted for five hours but took 6.5 to open up. This is a stunning young Cab with pure, dense fruit, very youthful tannins, high-toned acid, wet earth, black tea, anise, mint, sage, long finish. Hold unless you have a lot of this.

Similarly, I am not a fan of Underground, only bought once and not a great experience. Took myself off the distribution list. Cheers, fellas!

Surprisingly mute, not a whole lot showing for its age. Beautiful rich purple crimson color, but on the palate rather flat and uneventful, literally closed for business despite consumption over a two day period. This one seems to possess the stuffing, but for 2013 vintage it should show more at this point in my opinion. Off bottle? I’ll find out, l have a few more bottles in the cellar. 90-91 points.

    11/6/20, 8:14 AM - Yes, decanted and consumed over 2 days. Mute, not much of a nose to speak of. Nice color. Just closed right now. I have found the 2013 vintage overall to be inconsistent. Similarly, I had the 2013 Scarlett this week and it was wonderful. I'll hold the other Anomaly's until they wake up!

Deep purple with dark fruit, baking spice, and a little pepper on the nose. Opens with blackberry and plums, with chocolate, vanilla, and black pepper towards the back end. Medium length finish. Despite the 67% cab franc/33% merlot split, I get more of a new world merlot vibe from this wine. Alcohol is noticeable (15.3% ABV) as well as oak, but I did not find either to be overbearing. Though I tend to enjoy that style more than some others. Probably has at least 10 years of life left.

    9/30/20, 7:04 PM - Hi Mark. Last month, I finished my last bottle of the 2009 vintage and it was wonderful with plenty of life left. I plan on holding the 4 bottles of the 2013 that I have for another few years at least.

Barely a daily drinker.....mismatched red/black fruit, seems heavy on the syrah side. I ventured out on a Wineaccess email push but, nah.....Ok, but glad I only have 1 bottle left.

I was interested in buying more of additional vintages and was researching on CT. But thanks to you guys, I will pause. Thanks. I have had a similar experience with the WA “pitch” and my purchases. Some good, some not so good. Since I buy quite a bit of wine online and from them, I decided to take them up on their “if you’re not satisfied” offer and they have been great about it. Most of the other sites I buy from have been good about it too. The next few weeks I’ll be getting my quarantine buying spree deliveries!!!

I didn't find it as much an oaky syrupy mess that many other might. Sure, sure, its a "new world" oak fest but chilled, it was fine. Lots of tropicals and vanilla but enough acidity to keep it moving along in the mouth. For the price (a Garagiste mystery wine special), it was worth it.

For those of you out there who just like to be "Garagiste Haters cause you can", I say drop it, forgetaboutit. Don't buy his stuff. Go away. He's upfront about what it is/was so don't go buying it for pennies on the dollar and bit*h because its not Aubert or the Judge or DuMol or whatever your fav Chard is at the moment.......

It seems that most of the reviews for this wine have been written by @FJSELKEY. He must of bought a case and decided to plow right through it. Pity he didn't wait a few days between bottles. I've got a few more but you won't read about them tomorrow and next week and the week after, lol.

Pleased with this purchase from Garagiste as well and even though I have not read the reviews (can't seem to find??) you referenced, I also agree with your comments. You always have the option of not buying! Caveat emptor

So, ok this isn’t great, we can all agree on that. But, I decanted and bottled back up with Vacuvin, and the next day poured and enjoyed over a couple of hours. It was totally fine, if nondescript; along the lines of a completely average 2012 Cabernet from this area. Which, luckily, was a good year, so definitely hard to completely mess up. Whatever; I can now deal with what I’ve got and can finish this case out with appropriate preparation and not feel like a dope for buying it.

Glad I only have one.....drinks like a total clusterf***.....as disjointed as it gets. There are mismatched qualities every which way you turn. Cedar, tannins, sour, raisins, more cedar. I just can't stomach it. The 2011 season in Napa was atrocious weather wise and it affected many producers. None more than this, IMO. 80 points is being very kind...probably deserves a 75.

It should not matter whether a wine is your style or not, the number rating should reflect whether the winemaker has made something of quality that someone might prefer, even if you do not.
We do like the buttery, oaky as a pre-dinner "cocktail" and this is our "go to" for that and then we have a better bottle of wine with dinner. Say what you want with buttery and oaky, but the pairing with pre-dinner cheeses and snacks is rather good. At $7.99 on sale, this is a steal. Always has been, always will be.

Wonderful for the money. Rich and ready to drink now. While I think the wine can last many years, I think this wine will be best in the next 0-6 years. Ready to drink now.

Discovered this wine with the 1997 vintage and have not been disappointed with any bottle/vintage. Classic Rombauer with spicy oak, tropical flavors and a smooth creamy finish. yum!

    5/26/16, 11:54 AM - I agree that your technique is ideal. Unfortunately, most people just pop and pour and it never gets the chance to "blossom" and get to the proper temperature, too. If its too cold, you cant taste it!

Modern style. Lots of ripe fruit and new oak. Plenty of Cabernet greeness. Polished on the palate with good intensity and a rather long finish. Not that fun, but for a cheap end super tuscan this delivers well over its price point.

Really nice all the itself. I do not consider it to be extremely food friendly. However very enjoyable as a PNP and held up on day 2. Rich, dark fruits with a licorice coating and a hint of green pepper. Good QPR. I will not hesitate to buy more.

This is some great Pinot for such a little price. It's a lovely medium garnet, totally see-through, but with great glycerine. The nose nicely evokes rose petals and cherries. But it is on the palate where this really struts its stuff. It is so light in body that it dances right across the tongue. But there's nothing shy about the fruit: tons of crushed berry and cherry, suave, sexy and sophisticated. I really wish I had bought more. 4-12-18-9: 93/100.
