Dark fresh fruit on the nose with a hint of baby powder and eucalyptus. The first sip revealed bright red cherries followed by dark blue fruit. Rounded mouthfeel with a medium+ finish.

Dark cherries, brambly, and with some fairly forward eucalyptus - both on the nose and palate. Dark garnet with medium to short finish. I'm thinking the bottle may be a little off for the vintage as I've had others which have not been add prominent on the vegetal side. Still a good drinking wine, just not a fan of menthol-forward, green styles.

Dark ruby with translucent edges. Medium to full bodied with light tannins. Drinking great at the moment. Dark fruit flavors with a hint of menthol on the finish and eucalyptus on the nose. Nicely structred.

Dark garnet in the glass. Fine tannins. Smooth, with a round mouthfeel. Cigar box, faint menthol, big dark fruit. Easy drinking. Unbelievable for a 2011 vintage. Nicely done.

Easy drinking, aromatic, fruit forward wine. Think Caymus. Ready to drink now. Not necessarily cellar worthy wine as tannins are light and refined.

Seems linear to me, and slightly flat although there are some good flavors of dark blueberry and cassis. Possible that with time, better integration, although not sure that may be the case. Will have to see....

Green, vegetal, eucalyptus on the nose. Tight tannins after several hours of decanting. Seems somewhat linear although having some structure to further develop in the bottle.

A light floral aroma with a hint of soap suds. Dark purple black with flavors of cassis and dark fruits. Tannins present providing for a drier finish and built for long term aging. Solidly structured wine.

Violets with a hint of menthol on the nose. Dark garnet in the glass with translucent edges. Smooth and supple finish with flavors of dark berries and currant. This is a fantastic wine and one of my Favorite Carter's produced. Consistent profile year after year. Downside is the price is beginning to hit stratospheric levels, which will keep this and other Carter wines out of reach for many oenophiles - which is unfortunate given the caliber and experience of Mark's wines.

This is an absolutely fantastic wine. Dark black/purple, bramble nose, soft smooth tannins coat the mouth and having dark, pronounced fruit flavors. One of the best representations of LPV. Simply sublime.

Deep dark fruit aromas. Tannins present and will integrate over time, great structure built to last. Some slight kirsch on the long finish. Would love to try this in 2024 when it will likely hit its' stride...anticipate silky smooth and memorable finish.

Ok, this is the weirdest aroma I've ever categorized but on the nose, baby diaper powder...I don't know how to better explain it but I've attempted three different times and this is where I'm at with the aroma...dark garnet almost black in the glass with ruby red translucent edges. Flavors of blackberry and dark berry. Tannic on a medium+ finish. Could use more time in the bottle. Overall, not the best representation of Beckstoffer Las Piedra...IMO.

Enjoyed this wine with appetizers. Nice mouthfeel, rounded, with a short finish. Fruit forward. First time trying this wine and the QPR is well worth exploring. Not bad for $20 to $25. Try some.

Decanted for an hour. Some tartness on the finish. Still opening up at the time of these notes. Menthol forward on the flavor, dry. Seems to have alcohol forward, not quite sure on the integration of fruits. Seems somewhat disconnected. May be the bottle, or, perhaps needs more time decanting.

Heavy eucalyptus on the nose. Vegetal, but seemingly more common in the 2011s. Tannins are smooth and still maintaining their grip and texture. Dark fruit, blueberry, cassis, and some kirsch.

A very aromatic wine of dark red fruits and a faint hint of eucalyptus. Flavors of dark black berries and dark cherries. Dark chocolate on the medium+ finish. This is a surprising wine coming from the old world but made in a new world style. Unbelievably good and a great QPR. Imported by Gil Family Estates of Santa Rosa, CA, from Jumilla Spain. 70% Mouvedra, 30% Cabernet.
