Lovely after 26 years. Almost a rust colored brick in the glass. Muted red cherry and strawberry fruit has mostly given way to the tertiary notes of tobacco, leather, earth, red licorice, and stewed tomatoes. Flavor profile is definitely there if you're a older Brunello fan like I am but drink now over the next few years.

Enjoyed immediately upon a pour from the bottle.
Tight, w a minerality and drying quality previously noted by others.
Fruit was backdrop against a short somewhat uneven finish.
There was however an overall depth of potential layers I am hopeful will blossom over time.
Lay this wine down.

Spicy dark fruit on the nose for a new vintage in my judgement is often a sign of great hope.
Dark florals and candy as well.
Some earthiness but well back in the landscape.
Tight short finish preceded by a tannin dominated presentation of dark green veggies and grape/chocolate tootsie pop.
Go figure...
So, last glass second night, fruit forward w a maple hardwood halo effect. Tannins gave way but wine still showed structural integrity and decent aging potential regardless of the continuing short finish.
That's all I got.

I have a bit of a bottle left to finish tonight. 'Hope then to have a better idea.
Certainly has midterm capacity for aging from a great vintage. Short finish was of concern. I'll edit my note upon next tasting.
