This is of course in no way complex or profound. But it is immensely satisfying and it has got this lift that elevates your spirit. At least that was our experience as we drank it with oysters and small lobsters.

Eight years ago this seemed very awkward. But now everything has come together. The oak has all been resolved, and it is now a perfect packet of silky power. The tomato/iron character seems to have been transformed to something much more refined. This does not impress by its complexity nor its refinement. It primarily impress by succulence, balance and power.

Our house white. Light of course in accordance with its appellation. But it goes well with dishes without heavy sauces. And the nose is fantastic. Each sniff invites the next,as there seems to be something unfathomable about it.

Very elegant and lively. Dances across the palate. Plenty of lift to the aftertaste. High toned Pinot fruit. Iron infused. Hints of game - more with aeration. Good mouthfeel - though only medium weight flavors.

The only bottle of Poulsard I have ever tasted. The structure and flavour profile reminded me of a good Langhe Nebbiolo. Fruits were redder though, and the acidity more pronounced. The aftertaste was a little short.

At this point in time the nose is exclusively about flowers and minerals. Very fresh and clean in the mouth but not as vibrant as before. Aftertaste has a bit of warmth and a hint of liquorice.

Complex mineral spine. Tangelizing acidity. Holds 13.5% and I guess it is the sweetness of the alcohol that balances the acidity so beautifully. Love this wine. 5/11/16/9

Still very fresh and fruit forward. Balanced. Tannins finegrained. Lot of dry extract. Not very marked by oak. I think it has potential for at least 5 more years of cellaring - but then I expect it will be a different wine - more subtle less fresh.

Red fruit jam and light toast on the nose. Taste a little disappointing since the jammy character does not bear onto the palate. Fresh though with a nice acidity, medium body and a smooth texture and a medium lenght aftertaste (5/9/13/8)

Lots of acidity but crisp and light. Not a complex wine in any way, but perfect with the right food. Clean and precise in its expression. Well-made. Had a left-over that we drank the day after opening the bottle. The wine was still surprisingly fresh on day two. 5/10/15/8

This is a wine with an edge. The nose is floral and a bit plain. On the palate the alcohol gives weight and the acidity seems balanced, however after swallowing the acidity takes over and it ends a bit sharply. 5/7/11/7

Petrol nose on opening, changed after an hour or so to become very pleasant and fruity - however neither complex nor deep. In the mouth a crisp acidity balances the sweetness perfectly. Went very well with the Hangzhou style dishes. 5/8/12/7
