I am afflicted by a condition that if I have a higher price wine that I really like, I defer drinking it, because then I won't have it anymore.
My wife made me do it.
Good-bye, old friend.

(first CT post by WhollyTerriers) Like Syrahz, I bought a bottle of this wine blind yesterday, but on viewing the CT reviews I thought I had better give it a try rather than tossing it into the rack. Thanks guys, I'm heading back out to Costco this afternoon to buy more.

Agree with daver852. Tasted over several days, but no improvement. Almost poured down drain.

I was a disappointed, for the price, on the lack of middle depth, but note I favor "big" or extracted wines. However, it improved the second day, and compared the the Dry Creek Vineyards meritage and cab drank over the same two days, exhibited great balance and length.
Enjoyed? Definitely. Buy again for ~$80? Probably not.

Can't disagree with sapgem too much, but perhaps we like dark and brooding more than he does. Did not find it "syrupy." Definitely a pleasurable bottle.

Whoa, Cherry Syrup! (My wife says "cough syrup.") Acceptable with pork in a tomato-based sauce, but surprisingly not with chocolate. Not a wine for sipping.
