Needed an hour or so to open up, but turned out to be a great bottle. Dark fruit, Cigar box, forest floor and some pleasant herbal notes. More complex than anticipated. Still structured and I would love to drink this wine again in a few years time.

Dark velvet. Some initial funk which faded fast. Still fresh, nice fruit, good structure. Shows its age in a way that far exceeded my expectations. The age adds complexity.

Decanted 4 hours. Lovely bottle of syrah - even better than my previous bottle 1 year ago and still feels fresh. Clean, transparent and spicy. Drank well with game.

High fill and superb cork. Beautiful bottle which shows both freshness and aged elegance. (My lack of wine-experience keeps me from scoring this a point or two higher)

Needed quite a lot of air to open up. In the beginning this was just not pleasant to drink. After a while though it turned into a clean and relatively elegant bourgogne rouge. Matched well with mushroom risotto.

Quite typical of young Nebbiolo on the nose and only opens somewhat up after hours. In my opinion this should be kept for some years. If some one suggest that this is at its peak I certainly beg to differ. The tannin is still very much present and there is enough fruit there for further storage.

Nice acidity and concentration, tobacco on the nose. The previous bottle might have had a little bit more fruitiness. Still this is of the best of what I have tasted of Barbera. At €12.5/bottle in Alba it is surely a bargain in my book.
