This is the last of 6 bottles that I owned. Only posted notes on 5 of them I believe. Anyway, opened 3 hours before drinking. Poured a little into a glass. Cork was perfect even after all this time, a lesson that American wine makers could learn.

Nice garnet color in glass, very little bricking. Nose is pencil shaving and some raspberries. Drank over an hour with dinner. This wine seems to be fading from the glory that I once drank. The main issue is the fruit on the finish. The tannins and acid is all great, with pencil shavings nose this wine is known for. The magic of this wine in my opinion, was it finished with a light touch of fruit, that made you believe there is a God. However, that fruit is fading has been over the last 4-5 yrs. Now this wine is top notch still and 94 is a good score in my book, it just isn’t a 99 point wine anymore. Wish I had 34 more years left so I could buy some more and age it all over again, for another run. Super fun.

3 hr decant didn’t help. Started bad, never got good. Disjointed with some weird fruit/prune thing going on. Sorry, I know the Washington people adore this place, for the price of this, I can name 20 better French wines. Honestly this is making me rethink being on their mailing list.

Update: I poured a small glass just now, bottle open for 18 hrs. It is still not doing it for me. Prunes, with alcohol on the nose. Tastes hot, as in I can taste the alcohol on it. Says 14.4 by volume on the bottle, I know that is a moving target.

11/13/22, 11:35 AM - I’ve had a few of their other wines and have enjoyed them. This wine wasn’t corked, maybe just isn’t my style any longer. I will probably be moving on from their mailing list, as a result.

Fabulous. Absolutely lives up to its professional reviews. The best of Oregon Pinot Noir. Very silky, long finish. I just tasted my first bottle and am thrilled I bought a full case.

Sublime. If anything, I was expecting disappointment given the remarkably high WS score. This far exceeded my expectations. Fireplace, boysenberry, and a late nose of honeysuckle (quite distinct). The acidity and tannic structure on the palate is perfectly integrated. Luscious lithe palate all the way through with a finish that lingers unabated. I had not intention on writing such a poetic comment, but the wine brought it out in me... :)

5/9/15, 8:08 PM - 99 points is a score for an aged Bdx or aged Burgundy, but a young Oregon Pinot?

Spirits
N.V. 1921 Tequila Reposado Agave
Aroma: Cooked agave, vanilla, nuts, spice and light fruit. Very complex and inviting.

Initial Taste: A very pleasant entry with agave, fruit and a bit of spice.

Body: Very rich/oily and complex. The oak element comes through a bit more, but compliments the agave, caramel, fruit and spice (cinnamon) nicely.

Finish: A pleasant, but medium-short finish. Notes of oak and spice are most prominent with just a light sweetness to round it out.

Very nice and balanced tequila. Lots of agave and nice notes from the barrel aging. It's exactly what a good reposado should be. Nice bottle and overall value makes this one a winner in the price range.

DGRIFFIN's tasting note is spot on. Night one this was a bit closed and slightly tart - it was enjoyable but obviously a young wine. Night 2, this opened up nicely, with a much rounder mounthfeel, solid fruit components, abundant structure, savory qualitites, and interesting peppery, earthy, meaty notes. I think this wine needs another 1-2 years before it enters the prime drinking window. Decant for at least 6 hours if you drink now. I recommend enjoying one glass on day 1 and the rest on day 2.

Drank at winery, nice balance all around and would improve with age. Also decent value.

6/21/13, 7:48 AM - You are welcome, actually that was my favorite wine of the tasting. Almost had a left bank Bxd thing going on. I would have bought some if management hadn't wanted some Insignia, which is over priced IMHO.
