Exactly what you expect from la jota and Howell mtn. You won't be disappointed - do give it time to open. A few hours is amazing

Young -- needs time. Great structure deep dark color, perfect purple edge, long legs. A bit of mineral on the nose, lovely anise and deep dark fruit -- not ready to be opened. Could be a 94+ with time

Gorgeous wine... big like it was made on the right bank but with better grapes ;). All kidding aside, this is a killer bottle of wine

Wow - this is Cabernet at its finest. Be patient give it a ton of time to open. I double decanted and set aside for a few hours.

Great California Pinot. 30 mins to open - decant it - winemaker has good restraint. Itmshows Pinot well - no jam.

not the best vintage from Duckhorn, but vs most other cab's its still very good. It needs some time to open or age as its very young. Its a solid cab as you would expect from Duckhorn. No disappointments but it won't blow you away.

I agree it could age a bit, but give it an hour to open and its the perfect wine for this Memorial Day weekend. About as a good a barbecue wine as you'll find. We paired it with lobster fra diavolo and it complemented the heat in the sauce perfectly. No wonder the italians love their Zin! Let it breathe and enjoy

- Ruby color with a short finish - Nice expression of Oregon Pinot. Rhubarb and a touch of earth on the nose. Medium, ripe fruit on the opening taste. Ruby color, Generally Balanced, slightly acidic without being overpowering.

Good Pinot for the price I would buy again

a bit of peete on nose and the finish, soft tannins, medium body, give it time to open... it changes dramatically.
Solid left bank mouth feel, earth and dark fruit. At the price, its great, very drinkable wine. Not special occasion, but fun to drink

low acidity, lighter than I expected, soft tannins, very drinkable. a tad chalky but nice light red fruits. I was hoping for more complexity. But opens nicely. At the price... hard to beat and I still like it better than the other bank ;)

Very nice bottle - especially for the price. This is a very smooth, classic California cab. Nice blackberry upfront, a bit of oak in the finish, with elegance for such a young wine. Drinks great now - I wouldn't cellar it for too long but it could sit a few years. I'm gonna drink mine now (over the next 2 years). We gave it a few hours to open, just in the bottle, no heavy decanting and it paid dividends. Enjoy this

Exactly what you expect from silver oak - beautiful fruit right upfront, long easy drinking finish - with fruit everywhere. Definitively California style and a real crowd pleaser. Hard to argue that this is a good bottle of wine. Some with take issue with the price or complexity but all in all - damn good juice!

A bit disappointed. Too much green / twiggy-ness for my palate. This is a perfect example of why "Newman" should be banned from wine reviews. I think something is wrong with that guy - his description of this wine makes me think he has dementia. It's just not that good. I have 2 more of these and will likely lay them down as a science experiment but I am certainly not running to drink more

Wow - this is a knockout. It's drinking great now but will only get better with some age. It's a perfect French style blend with deep deep dark fruit, long finish with evolving blends and complexity of flavor throughout without any being overpowering. I need more of this. Nice tannic structure that is soft enough to be approachable but firm enough to age.

Long shadows does it again

A definite crowd pleaser. Dark fruit with a hint of anise and leather on the backdrop. Unfortunately it's over-Oaked in my opinion. If you love oak this is probably great - I like the character oak brings to a wine - not the actual taste of the barrel. That buttery dominant finish kills what would otherwise be a nice wine. I did give it an 89 because the rest of the wine is very well made.

I generally like Rhone, but this was awful. the pepper overpowered the fruit instead of complimenting it. Poorly made.

Reminder to self: don't buy this again, no matter the price.

Nice St. Estephe - not blown away, but a nice drinking wine. If I had this by the glass at a bar/restaurant I would be thrilled, but I prefer nicer wine at home. Soft fruit, mild tannins, easy drink but not very complex. For the price... great QPR

perfect representation of Margaux. Smooth and silky with fruit and an undercurrent of the terroir. Well done. I will seek more for sure. 2005 is a particularly good year which didn't hurt. I drank in 12/2012 and its about perfect for my taste, but I like them on the upside of the bell curve.

Beautiful brunello but definitely too young. Bright cherry on the nose, a bit of candied / brandied fruit in there, all red bright fruit. Nice long lasting finish with solid tannins. Once those soften this will be a knockout. If you must drink now, give it as much decanting as you can... a whole day even. Bright but not overpowering acids cut through italian food perfectly.

Wow - worst wine I've had in recent memory. This was just plain awful, nothing of what I usually love about burgundy showed up here. It was so bad, I thought maybe it was bad, but I had 3 guests all taste and the general consensus... just plain old awful wine. We even decanted for 2 hours and re-tried it.... still bad. Nothing is fixing this. Avoid it. We ended up pouring it out - first time I think I've ever done that.
