Deep ruby red leaning towards garnet. Young with medium intensity. On the nose: black fruit, cherry, Christmas cake, , dark chocolate with a hint of garrigue. Dry with high acidity, medium tannins (that or they are just smooth!) and high alcohol. Full body featuring black fruit, black cherry and tea leaf, black pepper and savory spice on the back palate. Finish is medium +.

A great wine for the price point. Seems light for a CduP, but well integrated with a nice finish despite a slightly tart mid palate. It will improve with a couple of years in the cellar.

9/26/16, 9:08 PM - September 25, 2016 - Update. Tasting note remains more or less the same. Time in the cellar has improved the wine, smoothing out the mid-palate tartness. I suspect the wine is not drinking at it's peak and will probably hold for 3-4 years before it starts to fall off.

Deep ruby red with a slight brick red rim. Nose has med+ intensity with red fruit (strawberry), some cherry, vanilla, menthol and a hint of licorice. The palate features black cherry, black pepper, plum and some strawberry. Tannins are slightly grainy. Medium length finish that is carried somewhat by the high alcohol. An excellent wine with a brilliant nose. The palate is a little lacking and probably needs at a couple of years to really open up.

2/1/14, 12:45 PM - Thanks for the comment. This was a note from my journal as I’m doing some research for a tasting I’m putting together. I’ve been meaning to post my notes, just never get around to it! I would say that the 2007 and 2008 are probably drinking well now and will hold for a couple of years – if you can find them. These wines are very well made and represent great value for Bolgheri wines in my opinion.
