Found a forgotten bottle in the cellar, initially slightly oxidative nose but started to come to life after about 20 minutes. Got better the longer it was open and actually quite tasty on day 2 (after gas in fridge). Fairly rich texture and a nice mineral note on the finish. While i like my Godello younger with the fresh fruit aromatics as part of the charm, this is obviously one that can stand some good cellar time.

Rich concentrated blue and black fruit with subtle cocoa and spice nuances. Very layered and fI'll bodied, drinking well now and later. Had at dinner last night at the amazing Paley's Place in NW Portland.

3/12/17, 3:41 PM - Paley's is on 21st Street between Pearl District and the boutique shops and restaurants on 23rd Street on the NW side. Paley's is a seious foodie restaurant, we had the tasting menu and it was exceptional: cured meats, scallops & steelhead, sweetbreads, gourmet cheese courses. My new top spot.

Disappointed with this wine. I am hoping it is in a dumb phase as the fruit has really lost freshness and was very back ended, overly tannic and very rough. The earlier bottles were much much better.

2/27/16, 6:24 PM - Thanks IndyTom, I hope you are right, as the prior bottle was awesome. I rated it rather than called it flawed because it was not oxidized or corked . . . and not good. . . we will see.
