Decanted two hours. Intense Black currant on the nose. Dark fruit and spice on the palate. Still somewhat tannic. Only starting to develop tertiary flavors. Drank over the course of a few hours, it kept getting better and better leading me to believe this will be at its best in another 10-20 years.

This wine shocked me. Either it was really, really good or I really, really needed a drink tonight. Heaviest mouthfeel on a Beaujolais that I can ever remember. Tons of fruit with classic gamay/Beaujolais characteristics on the palate. It's been a while since I've wanted to go buy a case of wine at a price point this low.

Gorgeous nose of lavender, animal fur and raspberry candy. Iron, blood and rich dark fruit on the palate. Thin mouthfeel, mouth drying tannins, plenty of acid. Medium-long finish with some pretty cool northern Rhone flavors on the backend. I'm really digging this tonight with braised short ribs and homemade noodles.

Absolutely gorgeous. Intense dark fruit on the nose with leather and spice. A touch of bricking beginning to show around the edges. Full mouthfeel with even more fruit, silky smooth tannin and enough acid to keep the everything in balance. The wine is in a great place right now.

My first MB this year and boy how I've missed it! Medium red with bricking. Nose blows me away with rust, blood, dirt, animal fur, and herbs -- my favorite kind of stuff. Nice balance of acid and soft tannin on the palate with more blood, rust, herbs, raspberries and tart cherries. I wasn't expecting much from this vintage so this bottle really surprised me.

Medium ruby, the slightest bricking around the edges. Tremendous nose of leather, cigar, and animal hide. Smokey, gamey, bloody and irony on the palate. Medium finish. Delicious.

This puppy is showing a little bricking. A full nose of plums and raisins. Thick mouthfeel -- this is a full bodied wine with nearly 15% ABV. Plenty of fruit of the palate, raspberries and cherries. Plenty of acid well in balance. Dusty, silky tannin with a very long finish. This is a beaut.

This is growing on me. Definitely on the fruit forward side of things, but very pleasant to drink. Red fruit on the attack and a little mushroom/soil on the finish.

Medium ruby color. Some really cool herb aromas on the nose along with some meat, rose petals and vanilla. I really dig this nose -- I can imagine this is going to improve and be unbelievable in another 10 years as secondary and tertiary aromas develop. Lots of dark fruit on the palate. Silky tannins. Medium mouthfeel and medium finish. Could use a touch more acid. Nice wine.

Light red color. Aromas of cherry cola, bread dough and cinnamon on the nose. Light mouthfeel, spicy red-fruit on the palate. Medium acid and very little tannin on the medium finish. This is an extremely pleasant wine. Very refreshing -- nothing complex about it but highly enjoyable.

Dark red color. The nose doesn't give much up -- a little wood, a little light red fruit. I'm really struggling to get anything. Mouthcoating, getting some dark fruit and cocoa on the palate. Medium+ acid. There is tannin but it's not out of control. This reminds me of a syrah from Australia. Hopefully this will give up a little more fruit as it opens.

Deep ruby color. Light violet aromas and a little cherry creamsicle on the nose. Plenty of acid and tannin. Not a super-vegetal wine but there is certainly an umami component. Earthy palate with iron and blood. The mouthfeel is a bit lighter than I'd like -- probably in the 1% milk range. Medium finish. I tend to like Cab Franc with pizza but I don't think this one would make a good match. Paired this with a sirloin roast with gravy.

Deep red color. The faintest of bricking around the edges -- barely noticeable. Haunting nose of tobacco, menthol, blackberries, leather and cherry. I could smell this for hours. Plenty of dark fruit on the palate with some dust. Medium+ acidity. Tannins are completely integrated -- medium mouthfeel. Finish is going on and on and on. Beautifully structured and balanced. This is a gem.

Light golden color. Faint nose -- a bit of pineapple and citrus. Chalky palate with plenty of acid and a lingering finish. Not very much fruit, maybe a hint of lemon and lime. Pleasant to drink but that's about it.

A hint of bricking on the edges. Gorgeous nose of herbs, game, blood -- sort of like something from the N. Rhone. Soil, cocoa, and dark cherries on the palate -- plenty of fruit left here. Medium+ acid. Medium finish. Tannins silky smooth. Hopefully I can find more of this on the secondary market.

Medium ruby color. Blackberry, some violets and strawberry jam on the nose. Medium acid. Dark berry fruit on the palate with a hint of soil. Silky tannins on the medium-long finish. Solid bottle of Ridge Zin. Might develop some additional flavors but this is probably at or just past peak.

I opened this with some strip steaks on the grill -- just kind of grabbed what I thought was a daily drinker at random. This is more than that. A complex nose of dust, dark fruit, bell pepper and graphite. Plenty of fruit on the palate mixed with some cocoa powder and spice. Medium mouthfeel and medium-long finish. A very nice wine -- wish I had more...

Very dark ruby color. The nose doesn't give up a ton -- I think I might have popped this too soon. There is some dark fruit and oak there, though. Thick and luscious mouthfeel. Tons of fruit on the mid-palate, lots of ripe plum and raspberry. Well balanced with some tannin and acid on the medium finish.

Medium golden color. The nose doesn't blow me away but it is very nice -- honey, apricot and a hint of marzipan. The perfect amount of acid. Apricot and citrus on the palate. Waxy, medium long finish. This is a nice, well balanced Sauternes.

Intense raspberries on the nose with some herbs and game. Gorgeous nose, I could smell this for days. Plenty of ripe red fruit and spices on the palate. I desire a little more intensity on the finish, but that's about the only bad thing I can say about this wine.
