Getting quite a bit of spice box on the nose probably from the Grenache some canned cherries too, both of those elements come through to the palate in this medium to full bodied wine. The overwhelming alcohol taste is the only thing that is out of balance for my taste. Maybe a year or two longer to mellow out a bit but not that bad right now.

Cedar, leather, meat, and subtle pipe tobacco aromas. I like the nose on this but the rest of the wine is somewhat disjointed and flabby with a short finish. It's cheap and it tastes pretty cheap too.

Oak, menthol, and blackberries on the nose. Silky smooth mouthfeel with subtle blackberries on the finish.

Sulfur, Blackberries and crushed rocks on the nose. Smells a lot like a smoke bomb firework but I really liked it. Blackberries show nicely on the palate with spice and black peppers coming through on the long finish. This should only continue to get better with a little more time in the bottle.

Dark fruit and pepper dominate the nose and carry through to the palate with cherry jolly rancher flavors present as well. It has a nice sense of balance and is a very approachable wine. Nice long finish too with cherry jolly rancher flavors lingering.

Oak, plum, and canned cherry fruit showing on the nose. Cinnamon, dark plum and cherries come thru on the palate with fine tannins and a short dry finish. This was killer with Gruyere cheese.

Guessed this to be a Merlot in a blind tasting but it was mostly cab. Elegant nose with a little oak that soon blows off and opens up to layers of green peppers, black liquorish, crushed rocks and dark fruit - very Bordeaux like. Has an expansive mouthfeel and extremely obvious green peppers on the long finish with great balance throughout. I bought this on sale at $25 it was originally $40 which I don't think it is worth but at $25 it is well worth it and made for an excellent steak wine the next day. 92pts

Huge black currants and road tar aromas with massive black currants on the finish no complexity what-so-ever to this but if you like black currants it's a good wine to try. 88pts

This was the first Carmenere I have tried and the first wine poured for the night. All the wines were served blind and I guessed this to be a Cab. It had a pretty tight nose I got a little dark fruit and spice box but that was about it. It was pretty closed overall I would like to try it again in a few years. The finish was nice though with muted apricots which I don't usually pick up in red wine. 85 pts

Oaky nose, with some red raspberry and spice showing. Pretty average yet not a bad every day wine has some bright red fruit on the mid palate with a sharp, hot, but short finish. 88pts

Blueberry and pepper nose with midpalate notes of canned cherries and raspberry. It comes on very smooth at first and ends up drying out your toung then wraps up with a short, hot and muted fruit finish. Not bad for $13 but probably not something I would buy again.

Cherry and chocolate nose with licorice and canned cherries coming throught to the palate. Simple but nice, medium bodied, somewhat tart and spicy shiraz with a short warm finish. Nice every day drinking wine.
