If you’re going to drink this now, it needs a solid 6 hour decant. Smoky leather and burnt cherry. Hardly any oak for a Rioja. Underwhelmed.

Decanted 10 hours. Very nice fruity profile. Has a nice understated complexity. Not as light as what you’d expect from Sonoma, yet not quite the elegant finesse of Bourgogne, especially for a premier cru. Good first attempt. Needs more time.

12/20/22, 8:24 AM - This was produced in Burgundy (Bourgogne en français). I was comparing it with the rest of the Kosta Browne portfolio from Sonoma for those of us that are familiar with their usual.

2013 Marcassin Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard Sonoma Coast
Have any of you received an allocation from Marcassin recently? My last allocation was the 13 Chard.

Very earthy, funky, and smoky. A bit of pepper. Great wine!
