From mag. Very solid for its level with beautiful, sweet fruit, just hint of spice, white clay and iron and very fine tannins. Medium body and lenght. No need for further cellaring but will likely hold for another 5-10 years on this level, at least in magnum format.

Compared to earlier years this feels a bit thin and angular, lacking that beautiful, bountiful fruit that this cuveé usually displays. Still good, just not on the level of the best years.

Two bottles for at dinner with a collection of friends. Now clearly into matured territory, this shows oxidative note of sherry, orange, nuts and cheese. Also earl grey tea, unripe peach, hay and salt. good balance with nice, zippy acids and a good grip in the mouth. At least these two bottles are holding up well. Nice!

Thsi shows a very pretty, perfumed nose of mixed berries, fresh paint, rosewater and violets. Very pinot-like. On the palate soft and inviting fruit towards the elegant side of the spectrum with more berries and a fairly high acidity. Also a bit of bread-spice and medium tannins, very finely grained. Medium+ lenght.

This lacks some complexity and intensity, but compensate with woderfull elegance and general yummyness. This amply demonstrate why nebbiolo and pinot can be mixed up. Not at all sure I wouldn't have named it pinot if blinded. Anyway, really nice to drink now, and while I'm sure it can age I don't really see the need for cellaring.

Darker and more brooding than La Colombiere from the same adress this shows notes of dark cherry, strawberry, blueberry, sloan and lingonberry. Also bay leaf, white clay and smoke. On the palate high acidity and a good amount of powdery tannins. Finishes with slightly brighter berries and some vosne spice. Needs more time but great stuff!

Just so smooth and easy. No hard edges but enough character to be interesting. Very well balanced, working well for social drinking or analysis, whatever your mood. See also previous notes.

Dark and powerfull for a Dolcetto with plum, lingonberries and sloan. High acidity and quite a lot of tannin. Smoother after an hour of air. Nice wine for it's category, but Dolcetto will never be a favourite of mine.

Lovely fruit with pear, peach, cantaloupe melon and ripe lemon. Quite rich and soft but carried by a medium+ acidity and a lovely chalk and iron minerality. Acctually great balance. A clear winner!

Way too young with lots of mouthcoating, drying tannins, a sour berry fruit and stony minerals. Needs a couple of hour to open up but what it really needs is another 10 years in the cellar. Good material though. Score for tonight, good upside.

Mature but far from tired. Sour red berries and an earthy minerality. Medium lenght. Not a standout but a good example of the appellation.

Great nose of assorted berries - a good mix of dark and light notes. Some light spice and herbs. A touch of raw meat or charcuteries as well. On the palate light and quaffable with just hints of tannins but a lovely, sweet berry fruit with lots of nuance and great energy. Long, sweet, mineral finish. Great, great stuff for a bourgogne rouge! Feels more open than a few years back but will last at least another 5-10 years without problem.

This is easily as impressive as last bottle. Packed with fruit, vosne spice and general deliciousness! Not the most elegant, polished burg I’ve ever had, rather one of the more powerfull ones, ar least for a village. Not heavy or clumsy though. Good upside in 6-10 years.

Great nose with boysen-, sloan- and rowanberries. Lots of meat and charcuteries, just a hint of smoke. Light herbal notes and a flowery perfume of violets, lavender and thyme. On the palate chewy and meaty with lots of structure, but enough fruit to cover the bones. Long spicy finish.

Drinking young of course but great stuff already! Good upside in 5-10 years.

Another bottle, generously brought by a friend.

Nose is seashore, chalk, straw and cream. Maybe a hint of red berries. Very nice! On the palate slightly rounder with a touch of sweetness and a bit more fruit. This fades quickly, leavind lemon and chalk for the finish, which is quite long. Good wine, lacking a bit of staying power and substance on the mid palate but has enough for 4-5 years of cellaring from here out. Very good QPR.

Les Trois garcons chez Lukas: This is a marvel of a wine. Exquisitely elegant, it is not about power or intensity, but balance, finesse and energy. It has that feeling of weightlessness, just floating on the palate like a creamy cloud of the lightest sweet lemon and flower petals. A hint of seashore and fresh oysters as well. Almost linear and devoid of complexity, almost like drinking scented mineral water at times, but oh so good! It is hard to describe the feeling as it is so fleeting, but it is one of ultimate luxury and silky freshness. Very long. If, at some point in the future, this adds some more depth without losing its current balance, it will be a good candidate for my first 100 point wine.

Les Trois garcons chez Lukas: Initially a little bit closed but with time a broad and complex nose with lemon, orange, a touch of red berries, cantaloupe melon, straw and fresh bread. With additional time coffee, fudge and candied orange peel. On the palate fine mousse, at first a bit angular with some bitterness but gradually gaining balance and complexity. Similar impressions as for the nose. Good acidity, iron and chalk minerality, very good lenght. A clear step up from last bottle, probably ’cause we gave it more time and attention. Best young Comtes I’ve had and good upside as well. With luck, this could approach perfection in 8-10 years time.

Les Trois garcons chez Lukas: The nose on this is to die for! Just a wonder of dark fruit, charcuteries, peppery spice, violets, lavender and a touch of olives. Also, strangely, banana! I could sniff this all night and die a happy man. On the palate sadly not living up to the lewd promise of the bouquet. A bit subdued, not giving much more than a sense of dark power. Everything in perfect balance though, with a silky mouthfeel, good acids and very fine, powder tannins. Good lenght but would have wished for more.

Give this another decade and I believe we’ll have magic!

Les Trois garcons chez Lukas: Powerhouse! Almost a caricature of an over the top, full throttle, no limits wine. Every dial is on 110%. Intense nose of very ripe fruit, chark, truffle, all-spice and pepper. Also lots of herbal, medicinal stuff. On the palate likewise exuberant fruit, spice and quite a lot of heat. Drinks like a dry port. One glass is enough, almost. Still, since everything is on max, in balance. Quite an impressive experience, but really, too much!

Still not showing much age. Might soften some with another decade or two, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Nose of bread, citrus apples and peach. Hints of light, red berries. On the palate good mousse, medium fine. High acids but also maybe a touch high dosage for me. More citrus and peach. Apples not as pronounced as on the nose. Finish is very dry with chalk and citrus. Medium lenght.

Puches way above its price! Good wine and Very good QPR.

First bottle of S-F Felseneck GG that acctually feels like it’s properly mature and doesn’t need any more time in the cellar. Lots of lemon, but ripe and rounded. More lemon pie than the acctual fruit. Some apples, hints of pear and melon. High acidity of course, but tempered by the round and soft fruit. Good lenght. Lacking some in complexity.

First bottle of this vintage for me. Either this is a slightly prematurely advanced bottle or this vintage is softer than most.

Compared to last bottle a few years ago this is several steps up. Intense nose of cassis with some spice, wood, light liquorice and just hints of sous bois. On the palate also dominated by cassis mingled with some rowan-, lingon- and raspberries. Good lift with medium+ acids, some structure still. Ironfilings, hints of rubber and old garage. Also dried herbs and scorched earth. Complex. Medium+ lenght. Very nice!

Intense, almost over the top nose with lots and lots of sweet fruit, heavy flowers and citrus. Desidedly tropical. On the palate round and a touch sweet with agin tropical notes, if not as pronounced as on the nose. Good acidity provides the needed lift and the finish shows some minerals. Nice but should be drunk.

Acids galore but also an almost tropical fruit, some hints of yeast. Not as wild as some S-F wines can be but I think it will be better with 3-4 more years of cellaring.

Decanted for 2 hours. Lovely nose of dark cherries, strawberries and cassis. Some brambles and bay leaf mixed with cedar, tobacco and rosemary. On the palate quite plush with good fruit. Tannins are beginning to soften. Earthy minerality, medium acids. Good lenght as well. Still on the young side but drinking well.

This is now more or less mature with notes of nuts, orangepeel and candied citrus. Broad fruit in the yellow/red spectrum. The citrus is still there but toned down a bit. Light touch of vanilla. Still good mousse and medium acidity. Well balanced, medium+ lenght. Drinking very well tonight.
