Same as previous notes

12/20/22, 12:03 AM - Yes indeed, I would recommend decanting any wine not much for sediments but for airation. 30 to 45 mins prior drinking should be fine.

Usually a big fan of this wine , however, this vintage needs more time, tannins are pretty rough and feels a little bit disjointed. Still have more bottle to open in a couple of more years.

bland merlot, underwhelming, but I don't recall ever really having a wine from Chile that I thought was great, or even had good QPR.

Nice enough but not a good QPR. Too expensive for the quality.

Day 1: 92 pts. A lot of cherry, red berries and with the right acidity to improve more , therefore, save for later. Medium body and not very long finish.
Day 2: 92 not much change.

Day 1 : Coravin, this wine is out of this world, concentrated and full of fruit layers and plenty of more life ahead. I did not wait more than 30 mins of air on the glass and opened up nicely to be able to express itself beautifully. It is really a master piece of Napa Valley.

I tried this wine 6 years ago and I scored 93 pts., I advised to hold it for a few more years to really enjoy this wine, I could not be more right....I am scoring this wine a solid 95 pts., tannins smoothed and integrated wonderfully, currant, mocha, and violets all over. I truly do not get the controversy about this wine, some reviewers scored this wine 80 ish pts., I do not get it....what I am tending to think is that this wine had multiple batches that were stored /fermented differently and therefore some bottles are so different from my bottles, honestly Caymus is one of the most respected wineries in Napa...hard to believe that they did not discard the bad batches....anyways, this is the beauty of this website we all pitch in our reviews and experiences ...

Ok Barolo but lacks a little bit of body and finish for a solid 92

10/21/20, 3:14 PM - Hi SRH, yes of course I can add some more comments, I opened this wine the night before, filtered any sediments (none) and put it back on its bottle with a rubber cork and vacuumed it back then went back to cellar temperature. Day 1 I tried it with some grilled sirloin and day 2 with cooked lenticels, not bad but it falls into the the lighter side of Barolos , also tannins not fully integrated yet.I would wait a couple years to see its development, luckily I have one more bottle.

2013 Quilceda Creek CVR Columbia Valley Red Bordeaux Blend

Day 2: Absolutely disgusting

The booziness on the nose has only increased since yesterday making this unpleasantly on the nose. Corpulent syrupy fruit notes, confectionary sweet vanilla and a flooded lumberyard of woody funk.

Blind I would peg this as an innocuous $15 Paso Robles red. Quilceda Creek should be ashamed.

Lack of fruit, peppery, ok, but not wow factor.

8/22/17, 11:20 AM - Hi, I actually decanted for good 4 hours prior dinner...not much backbone there...thin cab...

    8/23/17, 11:32 AM - Screwcap..!!!

  • noni15 commented:

8/25/17, 9:52 AM - My only concern on this wine is the lack of fruit and not very strong tannins to hold it for 10 years. Also, don't be afraid of screw caps...they work nice.
