Interesting wine! Slight purple hue. Notes of black pepper beef jerky, red fruits, leather, rose petals and a touch of baking spice. Fairly light on its feet. Nice acid too.

Paired with a Ribeye cap. Perfect pairing. Drinking very well right now.

Still a bit harsh and in your face, which I found strange since this is supposed to be the Alban that’s more approachable in its youth. Inky with a bit of alcohol out of the gates. This smoothed out with some air, but still not super impressive or unique.

Decided to give this a shot for New Year's Eve. Really smooth upon opening. I was pretty excited at that point and let it decant for another couple hours. IMO, this is still quite young. Even following the decant, the wine didn't evolve a whole lot. Quite a bit of grip from the tannin and the fruit notes were pretty primary. This hasn't quite come together enough to score it much higher. A tasty bottle nonetheless, I was just expecting more based on some of the previous scores and comments.

4+ hour decant. Still some robust tannins. Nice Red Willow fruit. Needs another year or two.

I didn't enjoy this as much as the 2010 vintage I had in July of 2017, but it's still enjoyable. I agree with previous comments that there is still some heat on the finish and needs some time to fully integrate. Needs another couple years.

Tasted blind. Nice oak and vanilla nose. Could tell that it was going to be a smooth wine. I really enjoyed the weight and viscosity. This was a smooth drinker that stood on its own just fine. Really enjoyable!

Starting to show some age on the nose, which seemed strange being a Betz. This was a little thin for my preference and wasn't showing a whole lot of fruit. Fairly acidic back end and a raisiny finish.

I recall liking the Armada syrah in the past. Gave this a couple hour decant. Fairly light in color and weight. For me the nose was dominated by red pepper and Cayuse funk. The palate was typical Cayuse flavors, but it too was light/thin. I've noticed more sourness with the Cayuse/Horsepower wines I've had recently as well. Likely a change of taste... I can't justify $80+ for this any more.

Just as delicious as I remember from tasting at the estate. Hour decant and was rich and smooth. Pared beautifully with Chateaubriand. A memorable bottle for sure!

Drinking really well right now! Nice, ripe blue fruit on the front end, brought home with plenty of grip on the back end. This will undoubtedly go the distance...if I don't drink my remaining three bottles first.

My first Myriad and it delivered as expected. Out of the bottle it was approachable and would have done just fine as a PNP. Decanted for three hours and it was singing nicely when dinner was plated. The purity of red and blue fruits was great and the rich texture was fantastic. Having a wine like this available at the current price point makes me really happy.

Upon opening there was quite a bit of pot roast and salinity on the nose. This mellowed out a bit and "sweetened" after a couple hours in the decanter. The beef transitioned to Serrano ham both in flavor and its slightly briney, saline finish. While consistently well made, I think I've concluded that this syrah is on the lighter side of what I ultimately prefer.

Dark ruby red and a hint of sediment. Nice red fruits on the nose with a touch of oak and incense. More red and blue fruits on the palate. Pretty well integrated with smooth tannins considering it's youth. Not super complex though. Consistent notes on night 1 and night 2.

I think I liked the 2014 better at this point in it's life, but this is still a good value at $42 from the winery. I look forward to seeing how the other bottles develop with some more time.

Was hoping this was going to as good a value as the previous vintages. Was bitter and sour upon opening. Double decanted to try and get something going. An hour in, got a little baking spice on the nose. Touch of fruit on the palate. After 2.5 hours the nose muted and the finish was quick. A little tannin emerged.

I would say this was flawed, but I received consistent notes from someone else recently. Not sure if the fruit source changed on this or not, but this may be the biggest disappointment of the year for me. I don't expect a whole lot for $15, but the previous vintages were so shockingly good! This doesn't even perform well in the "budget" category. Disappointed I even purchased two bottles. Might just be the end of an era...

Consistent experience with my last from 8/2014. However, I think this has improved and was the wine of the night among other really tasty wines from around the world. I knew this was going to deliver, as Maggie's wines always do, but this was extra special.

Similar to mclancy10006, there was a bit of (unexpected) brett upon opening. Lots of sediment too. The brett seemed to blow off upon decanting and the wine started hitting it's stride a couple hours in (on the last glass). Paired nicley with my short ribs.

Seemed very young and will likely benefit from 5+ years of cellaring to finally come around.

Took about a half hour for this to start opening up and showing some fruit. Still very light for a Cab/Syrah. My wife (who is not a huge consumer of reds) enjoyed it because it was delicate and balanced. Didn't have any Cayuse funk either. Would be fun to taste this blind against a rich CA pinot like KB! Looking forward to seeking how the (much warmer) 2012 vintage shows...

Decanted for 3 hours. A little lighter than I remember the '13 being. Got quite a bit of green pepper on the nose out of the gates and throughout the evening. It would come and go and turn more floral at times. Likely the Viognier showing up... No rough edges on this and can tell with a little more age, this will really get fun! Very tasty and enjoyable nonetheless in its youth!

My first Alban. Really tasty wine. Liked this out of the gates and it only got better over the few hours it was consumed. Super dark and rich with a long finish and ripe tannin structure. My kind of syrah!

Needed a little decant time to really hit its stride. Really nice aeromatics. Dark cherries, a touch of orange liquor and cooked rhubarb on the nose. An enjoyable bottle from the challenging '11 vintage in WA.
Rosé
Sweeter than usual for a rosé from Pinot Noir, but enjoyable on a hot day. Found this showed best when served right from the fridge. Refreshing and easy to quickly consume a bottle between two.

Even in its youth, this is a great wine! Upon opening it caught my attention. While it comes from the Rocks, it doesn't exhibit an overpowering funk that is often reflected in wines from this region (e.g. Cayuse, Reynvaan, etc.) This had beautiful/pretty aromatics that continued to develop. The bacon and lavender notes I received throughout the evening were thoroughly enjoyed. I love what they're doing at Delmas!

Not a single rough edge on this wine. Simply delightful! The oak is ever so light and is there to simply give the wine a kiss of smoothness the contributes to the seamless texture and flavor of the wine. Likely the best white wine I have ever had!

Young and disjointed. Possibly flawed/ defective. First night revealed some nice smoke on the nose, but still a little hot. Tannins a little rough too. All this after a couple hours of decanting. Should have started the decant at lunch! Questioning the great "value" folks refer to with this red blend.

Night 3 it was worse. Thought some time after decanting would help mellow things out. Nope. Not corked, but pretty dang bad.

There's no doubt that this wine as structure to go the distance. Double decanted for a couple hours. Easy to drink right now regardless. Enjoyed a few glasses after dinner. Would pair great with a steak.

Day 2 - Enjoyed on the deck and got a lot of deep red fruit with a green hint lurking in the background. Enjoyable wine, but if I had more I would hold them for at least a few more years before revisiting.

Baking spice, dark berries and a touch of oak on the nose. Spice, cherries, dark berries and oak on the palate with a fair amount of grip on the finish. For $8.99 one would be hard pressed to find a better Washington State cabernet with this QPR.
