So many 2006 wines are drinking great that I decided to see if this one was ready to go. It was not. Like many of my Rudd wines this one seemed to have a great wine in the bottle, but simply was not ready to present itself. This is a recurring theme.

The wine looks brick colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like forest floor and black currant (cassis). It tastes like prune, black currant (cassis), dust and forest floor. The body is medium/full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

great nose, and representation of 337. hits the sweet spots on the pallet well, and nicely balanced tannins.

young, green, and not in a good way.

Really surprised on this one. The nose on my bottle was terrible, but what a treat on the pallet.

I barrel tasted this at the winery and was blown away by it. The first bottle I opened when I received my shipment didn't really perform so great. Was a bit too tight. Going to give it some time, and update my review afterwards. I expect it to rebound.

Very young and tannic. I think there is a great bottle of wine in here, but I think it is a few years away. Typical big on the nose, that announces the presence of a strong California cab driven bomb. Spicy on the front with vanilla and cedar on the very long finish. I think this one will mellow out with time, and find its way. will lay the rest of my inventory down for a bit, and try again in 3-5 years. I ran through a venturri, and then decanted for a few hours before tasting, and I think it still needed some time. IF you are planning to try this one now, allow ample time. It's big and green at the moment.

heavy mango flavor, and somewhat thick to me.
