Nice example of Ribera, tending more towards the oak and bitter tannins than some. Good fruit in depth adding balance.

Very good example of GdT, more balanced than many, with some good acidity offsetting the tropical fruits. A little on the pricey side, though, at ~$30... Would be much more appealing nearer $20.

Nice, but a bit lighter and more acidic than I was expecting for Cannonau di Sardegna.... Others are more full bodied and dark fruit vs red fruit. I would probably go elsewhere at this price point, but perhaps more appealing to other palates and pairings.

First taste of the 2019, it was excellent -- especially for price. Nice dry and lighter chianti; obviously not super-complex, but a great choice mid week. A little organic depth too. Maybe better than 2017?

Normally drinking old world, this was a pleasant change. Not a fruit bomb, it offered a nice balance of fruits and silky tannins -- especially after decant through vinturi. Not as complex as old world cabs, it was still a good pairing for a grilled pork tenderloin.

Found this more balanced than my previous review indicated, so either a different food context or perhaps the previous one was slightly flawed. The balance of tropical fruit and acidity was excellent, with a nice long palate.

Very heavy on the barnyard when opened... Air reduced the impact to balance it out, overall good after the time open.

Gosh! This is tight... Nothing at all on opening, but after three (3!) decants with vinturi it opened up quite nicely... Classic nebbiolo profile in many ways.

Not a bad QPR if you don't charge for the decant!

Excellent Morgon at a very compelling price under $25. Just a perfect balance of tart fruit, dark fruit and minerality.

Previous review describes well. There is a lot of dosage in this cuvee which comes through as a very appealing smoothness almost sweetness (although not sweet). Other champs have a lot of tart acidity, which has its place but can be too much.

Great sipping champagne but as usual good with most foods too.

Good wine, excellent QPR at $11 or so. Fairly basic profile, nice balance of fruit, mineral and tannin. I think I'll go up the price/quality scale for general purpose wine, but a great choice for a party.

Nicely balanced grillo; so many are way too heavy on the tropical fruits, this was much more balanced. Enough acidity to give it zip, with apples, pears as well as lemon and light mango. Good if you can find it.

Well... This was a different wine. The heavy funk has gone, and is now really very lovely with some nice mineral and fruit, still some evidence of the funk but in balance. If anything, maybe ever so slightly past its prime...

Only got the two, but seems like it takes about 6 years to peak...

Solid if straightforward Greek red. Easily drinkable and well balanced, it has great QPR at just over $10. Drinks like high teens at least.

This was much better than my first bottle back in mid-2021... The barnyard funk is dialed way back now, revealing the delicious fruit and mineral notes on top of fine tannin. Probably still best with food, but drinking super-well now.

Nice enough, but quite soft and probably faded. I left it too long in the cellar :-( I think the CT drinking window of 2022 was probably about right.
