Amazing acidity, with classic stone fruits, tropical notes and underlying botrytis. A great Tokai.

Fresh herbs and dark berry notes on the nose. A massive powerful wine presenting tobacco and tar with rich dark fruits, green pepper and a stiff set of tannins that linger. Delicious and great with food after an hour or so of air but still quite tight and not fully integrated. Give it a few years.

Still too young but after an hour decant, the green herbs, blackberry and cedar showed through in harmony. Give this one a few years.

The magnum was much more vibrant than my 750ml tasting. Fresh herbs and spices on the nose, plenty of bright red and dark berry notes, spices and solid tannic structure.

Nose is bursting with herbal notes, green pepper, garrigue with red fruits behind. Still very fresh, with solid tannic structure. Muted oak and the fresh herbal, red cherry and raspberry notes did not lead me to Napa cab in the blind tasting but definitely a fun and lively wine that's drinking well and can last much longer.

This one is a bit corked. Wet cardboard and damp dog on the nose. Can still extract the bright red cherry notes and tannic structure, but no rating due to TCA on this one.

Nose a bit funky. Some charcoal and red berries which fade on the soft finish. Not too impressive.

Nose a bit muted with some dusky dark berry notes. Crushed blackberry with swirls of red cherry. Very nice, but on the downhill slide with less complexity and structure than I remember.

Rich blackberry nose with damp earth. Some tart red cherry notes, cedar and chalky tannins. Very Nice, but on the green/ tart side for a Napa cab.

Very good but this one had a hint of TCA. Not quite up to the level of the 2004. Earthy, rich dark fruit.

At 13 years it has at least that many left. Plenty of structure. Nice flinty notes, sage and red raspberry. Burgundian for sure.

Not sure what's going on with this wine, but despite no obvious oxidation, TCA or heat exposure, it's dominated by sour fruit and green notes with flabby structure and little to commend it. At some point I'll get to trying my remaining bottles and see if this character remains, but considering this was so undesirable I'm not in any hurry.

Barnyard nose blows off quickly. Herbs and floral bouquet swirling with spices, black currant and leathery, meaty notes. Every aspect that makes a wine fascinating and expressive. If I had to choose a single wine for the rest of my life, this would be it ...

Deep, dark garnet. Needs time to open up, but cedary notes blend with dark berries and herbs in the nose. Alcohol levels evident, with rich dark fruit spices, subtle herbal notes. Impressive wine, but can age for quite a few more years to hit prime IMO.

Black raspberry jam on the nose. Some spice -- cumin, black pepper as well. Dark fruit on the attack with long spicy notes of cinnamon, allspice and cocoa finish. Soft but solid tannins. Some leather as well. This wine has that Aussie Shiraz intensity of flavor but still elegant.
