Very masculine. Tobacco, spice, oak, a little mineral, next to no fruit. Finish was slightly disappointing. Tannins intact but fading. Drink now, may not be built for much longer.

Luscious black and purple fruit on the nose. Supple entry. Rounded edges on an elegant, still imposing structure. Arches in a Gothic cathedral. Tart plum, hint of chocolate, tobacco and leather.

Sumptuous purple. Nose curious, has almost some toasted buttered popcorn, a little funky though still bright, not overwhelming - kind of wild and definitely unexpected. Entry is not as eccentric as the nose. Brighter red fruit like a raspberry. Thinner than the 07 but perhaps a bit brighter. More oak and spice (cinnamon?). Dusty tannins for a bolder finish - keep it down for a few more though certainly drinkable now with some salt and fat.

Nose is jammy. Luscious body of plentiful fruit, dark fruit. Blackberry bunches. Tannins in a great place - structured yet rounded. Brighter acidity is a welcome encounter. Great structure upfront and mid palate, milder finish but still a nice ride. Flavors fan out toward the end.

Nose a bit minty and herbaceous. Mouth feel is generous though not as dense as a Sarocka. Feminine, temperate, red fruit. Herbaceousness persists through the finish of the wine.

Nose is blueberry pastry. Entry is luscious, blueberry pie center without being overly sweet. Vanilla, balanced yet structured tannins and beautiful finish. More feminine than the 2009.

Some herbal hints on the nose. Supple entry, hefty tannins. Herbaceous persistence on the palate. Subtle eccentricity and thoroughly inviting. Chocolate. Dark and delicate fruit. Velvet mouthfeel and excellent finish.

Ruby brightening toward the edge. Red fruit, charcoal, chocolate, subtle spice box, well built tannins, medium acidity. Balance balance balance. Lucious mouth feel. Velvet.

Lucious ruby in the glass thinning toward the edge. Nose hinted at more than just a juice box - surprisingly complex, more than I was expecting. Dark fruit without overwhelming, touch of cocoa, supple tannins, balanced acidity. Firm bodied but not overwhelming. Thoughtfully constructed. Mellow but lingering finish. Sweeter and more feminine for a cab but somehow accomplishes this without being a fruit bomb. Silk charmeuse in the mouth

Blueberries, plum, succulent blackberry fruit all over the glass. Tannins intact though a little thinner on the end. Great value and easy drinking. Intensely approachable. A Napa fruit demonstration indeed.

A little vapid on entry but may have been too cold. Green apple, clean acidity, mineral, light oak. Evolved with time and as it warmed up. Oak built out for some structure. Tasted closer to a domestic Chardonnay without the butter bomb. Intrigued by the complexity over time.

Nice - thinner but still delightful. Boastful Cherry, fun fruit, bright and well rounded. Structured tannins. In the zone. Flirtatious but still sophisticated.

Bold tannins without being abrasive...though definitely looking for some food. Earthy fruit, masculine, prominent Sangiovese. More wood and leather at the end.

A bit brash out of the glass but nevertheless enjoyable. Firm and a lot of oak on the finish. Tart if fruity, spice and cigar box. Tobacco. Masculine. A bit hot. Lay it down for a couple more.

Polished, decadent tannins. Gentle acidity. Sumptuous. Balanced fruit, oak, spice and earth. Finishes with subtlety if not slightly short but not insultingly so. Drinking well. Feel free to pop.

Medium tannins. Fun upfront, shorter on the finish but still enjoyable. Herbal, a bit of kirsch, forest floor bramble, leather. Definitely crack soon, getting toward the end of cellaring.

Chill on the bottle made the first taste an utterly welcome refreshment. Crisp, dry, balanced and approachable. Still enough tannic structure to welcome food but not so overwhelming that it cannot be drunk on its own. I find more minerals than leather and spice. Succulent cherry without becoming mawkish or trite. Almost a touch of floral (or at least ruminating on the herbaceous). Excellent finish for a Chianti. A welcome retreat!

Still some hefty tannins but a smooth ride all around. Nice structure, unassuming complexity. Not as fruit forward as some Napa cabs but neither is it in denial of its origins. Nice grip on the finish. Excellent balance across the palate, flavor profiles. Can probably cellar for a few more but would not turn down a chance to drink today.

Nose is still lush, fruit forward. Sumptuous, elegant. Structured, yet subtle tannins. A feast of fruit, mid palate is delicate, developed, touch of cedar, hint of vanilla. Finish is suggestive and well mannered. Perfectly aged.

Luscious front, decadent. Not too big, not too small. Rounded in all the right places but still complex in the mid palate with minerality, cedar and gentle masculinity. Lingering finish without a full punch to the jaw. Tannins still intact and balanced.

Not a lot of fruit on the front. A bit herbaceous on the mid palate. Short finish, decent acid, tastes hot but bottle just opened. Still punchy, angular. Would like to see a bit more elegance and follow through given the tannins in play. Feels a bit non-commital, like it doesn’t know what it wants to be. In truth, it’s an adolescent boy. The hormones are screaming, the skeleton has grown, but there’s no mass, hasn’t grown into it’s shape.

Still broad shouldered and very fit. Surprising lack of fruit in the palate given the nose. Medium plus acidity. Masculine yet a rounded finish. Old leather tobacco gravel. Velvet upfront with a lingering finish. Still structured and decent though delicate tannins. Feels French in the flavor profile but still tastes new world - not farmy. Fruit creeps in with time out of bottle. Feels like it still has a bit more time left if you wanted to let it ride in bottle.

One of the more unique cabs I've had in some time. Had incredibly luscious mouthfeel with long finish, but a fruit bomb. It was balanced and had minerality. Was hot out of the gate so give it some time to breathe. A real treat.

In a great place right now. Tannin has mellowed just a touch, but still tons of backbone. Easily 10yrs left.

Firing on all cylinders. Great structure, incredibly long finish. Surprisingly round edges considering youth and high octane. Perfect companion to our dry-aged tomahawk ribeye.

Fantastic showing, still at least 3yrs at peak I'd estimate. Give it at least 1hr decant, and enjoy with a thick steak!

Have to say I was disappointed. No fruit, thin mouthfeel, but also none of the upside from having 10yrs of age. Maybe it's in a dumb period.

Showing well, but still could lay down and improve for 2-3 yrs. Great texture and nose, surprisingly high acidity (gives you excuse to eat it with a great Ribeye!)

(From a mag.) Showing very well right now. Tannin firm but not over the top, interesting bit of mineral/dust on back end - definitely not a fruit bomb. Still had at least 5yrs in large format, so 750s are probably at or close to peak.
