Nice wine that is enjoyable to drink..."good++". A Garagiste offer, and the enjoyment factor is well worth the near 50% discounted price of ~$29 (at full price I'd much rather pay slightly more and go with Pierre Yves Colin-Morey or H. Boillot, producers whose white burgs I generally consider to be in a different league)

Very fragrant nose of crushed seashells, oak, some vanilla and hint of apple skin. Fair amount of sulfur and wax on the nose which lessened somewhat over time with air. Expansive in the mouth and quite expressive flavor of apple skin, hint of lemon custard, nuttiness, toast, oak, some butteriness, a bit resiny, and strong minerality. "Good+" complexity, but not terribly complex. Reasonably clean and crisp. "Good+" balance, but a bit heavy in part due to decent/refreshing but lighter acidity that doesnt fully balance out the fruit. Very good lenth. Given the price, glad I have more to satisfy more "everyday" white burg fixes. 90pts

Dark purple with ruby tones. Initially upon pouring nose and palate were dark, compact, brooding. After 40-60 mins in decanter, opened nicely to become more balanced, lighter and openly expressive. Nose was clearer and brighter than the palate, and was somewhat smooth, but with a slightly rustic element. Clear and relatively focused aromatics, bright mid-toned nose of black cherry compote, blackberry, tar, soft leather, iron and damp earth. Very little heat on the nose. The palate was smooth, but a bit rustic and chunky around the edges. Pleasurable level of tannins and acid to provide good structure and balance. Nose somewhat more clear and focused than the palate, which intensified (in the palate) the "compote" sensation of blended fruit versus focused, clearly delineated fruit. Flavor profile of dark red fruit compote, spicy plum notes/black currant, iron, graphite and mineral. Somewhat dusty tannins. A very little bit of heat. Did not have the "cherry liquor" flavors present in the 2003, which is a good thing and probably due to age in the bottle. Short-medium finish. Overall very pleasurable, but would have enjoyed more extract and focusin the palate. Still, a very good drink. 91 pts

Very good. Decandted for 1 hour prior to drinking. Expressive nose of cherries, raspberries, and bright fruit, with some spiced plum in the background. On the palate, spicy cherris and red berries with an undertone of plum. Good stucture and very tasty. Better than I expected...very good, but not great. Recommend.

Bleh! Not at all my style of wine. Regret buying. Tastes like rose water with little acid.

Supeb wine. Extremely well balanced and smooth. Double decanted and rebottled 5 hours prior to drinking. Mellow and expressive nose of white fruit, white peach, hint of tangerine. On the palate, mellow attack. Smooth. Mid-palate very complex and balanced. Kalidescope of mellow white peach, mellow tropical fruit...belize papaya, pineapple dances on the tongue. Shimmers on the tongue with citrus tartness. Rich and dense. Acids in the background. Extremely well structured. Sugar level appears to fade into a very long finish. Cannot wait to see how this evolves. Ive heard that over time the baby fat will fade and the acids will take move toward the fore. Look forward to experiencing that.

Superb. To borrow a description I heard elsewhere "like bottled sunshine". Very elegant, etherial, filigreed. Not at all a heavy or cloying wine. Decanted and rebottled for 4 hours. Initial slight sulfur on nose. Nose a bit tight. Eventually it opened and reveled honeysuckle, hints of tuberose and peonese. Strong attack with a rushed wave of flavor that hits the palate and then tumbles like a crashing wave into a complex mid-palate, which ultimately calms and clarifies into a filigreed and endless finish. Bright and light. Very extracted and complex mid-palate of pear, hint of fermented gaja apple, hint of lichee, peach and mellowed pineapple, white spice, honeydew melon, minerals. High-toned citrus finish. Slight spritz with refreshing crisp acidity. Concentration, richness and power yet light and balanced. Must buy more of these.
