The highest I have rated a wine for a long time. Absolute knockout. Deep, rich, unctuous. Its not a wine you want to share with anyone. Wonderful acid balance moderates the effect of the very high sugar. Notes of honey and marzipan on the nose.

Lovely savoury palate. Tannins still firm. Will keep the remainder for a few more years.

Marvellous, held up well. Soft acids, but still present. Buttery mouth feel, citrus notes on palate. Long finish.

Lots of colour and extract. Surprisingly light on the palate and less fruit than expected. An interesting residual tannin kick. Savoury nose follows on palate.

Very savoury on nose (marmite) and palate. Almost no fruit. Fairly disappointing.

A fairly tarry nose and palate, not the finesse I was expecting.

Very appealing wine. The nose, according to my daughter, is like clean laundry. It is a clean nose with hints of ripe apple and citrus. Follows through on the palate.

Hard work this wine - lots of bitter notes. This said, I have been drinking bottles over a couple of years and it is aging very well. It has good structure and acidity and the fruit, though not particularly pronounced, has held up well. Guava and other subtropical notes are more reminiscent of a Chenin.

Fresh, clean, fruity - great acid balance. Av nice wine, but probably a bit lightweight for its price.

This has aged well, but it is still a very odd blend. It has a somewhat yielding nose and on the palate sharp acids and an underlying bitterness detract from an otherwise very well made wine. Does it deserve its hype?

Very delicious, high acid, quite Burgundian in style, but without sacrificing fruit.

Disappointing, perhaps the bottle wasn't stored properly, but it looked and felt old.

Lovely wine. Piercing activity. Flinty nose with lemon and citrus notes. Some creaminess to the palate has developed with age. Definitely glad that I kept it for a bit.

Strong opening blackberry nose, then barnyard. Deceptively rustic, but has great complexity on the palate. A delicious wine.

Should have left it in its bottle for a bit longer. Nose a bit disjointed - some subtropical aromas and citrus elements, but nothing especially fresh. Big acids on palate tend to hid everything. A very different wine to the one I tasted a year ago.

This has aged well. a reasonably big and complex wine. Fruit not as fresh as I would have expected, but still held together nicely with firm acids. Still has a couple of years on it.

This has held up very well. Butter lime nose with a bit of wet stone. Ripe fruit, some minerality. Acids not as taut as they could be but nicely balanced. A very nice and extremely drinkable wine.

mmm.. Sharp, acidic, a bit unbalanced, some bitter notes. Not a wine which one wants to drink. It certainly looks and feels well made, but it's an odd blend and I do wonder why Eben Sadie really bothered with this wine.

Inviting nose, blackberry, some vanilla. A bit one dimensional but very pleasant. Mulberry palate, med tannins, acid a bit out of balance, but not a bad wine for the price.
