Outstanding, in a perfect place to drink. Great balance and texture. Classic Mike Smith with a bit of age.

I loved this bottle last night. Was balanced for a Petite Sirah and aging well. Plenty of structure to last a long time. However, it was in a nice spot for drinking today. Could have easily been mistaken for a Dunn Cabernet or Bordeaux.

Was pretty disappointed in this bottle. Very flat and uninteresting. Nothing wrong just not noteworthy. Too much wine to drink something this unremarkable.

My first note said wait 4 years, I only waited 3 and decided to open one for Thanksgiving. This wine has really evolved. Its ready to drink now in my view as its more subtle and sublime than a standard Dunn HM. Maybe its the old vines but the fruit is already well integrated and the tannins are soft. This has the structure to go on for years still but its more approachable than I would expect. Very food friendly. Not sure how long I will wait on the remaining bottles.

This was in a really nice drinking window. Softer than the Howell Mountain but still sturdy and balanced. Great nose and color, very food friendly. I could drink this wine every day. Just an awesome example of Dunn.

Solid but didn't jump out to me as crazy good like To Kalon normally does.

I was surprised and a bit disappointed in this bottle. This has mellowed out and was very nice... But it wasn't noticeability a To Kalon or Mike Smith wine to me...

This thing is still holding up amazingly well. I don't see it going anywhere but hold firm for the time being. Classic Dunn

Still a bit more closed and one dimensional than I expected. I will let the rest of my bottles develop longer term.

This was freaking fantastic. Wine of the night, great balance but clearly strong Howell Mountain fruit. At this price point,I would drink as much of this as I could get my hands on. Just ideal.

Dark purple in color. Earthy, barnyard nose. On the palate the fruit is subtle and integrated. Still lots of tannins in this wine and a strong finish.

Outstanding, ready to drink now. Even Laura commented on how nice it was and she rarely notices what we are drinking.

Drank along side the 2018 Oliver's Blend barrel sample and a 2015 Olivers Blend out of the bottle. No rating for me on this one, just was too young and out of sorts to give it a proper rating. Here are my notes...

Dark purple in color. The nose is very rocky and lots of minerals, almost a dirty smell - no hints of fruit that I could pick up at all. In the mouth, wow… this is a tannic monster. One of the most powerful wines I have ever tasted, very dry right now from the young tannins. I admittedly do not have a lot of experience tasting wines this young from barrel samples… So its hard to comment on how this wine will be from bottle. Lots of power in this one for sure, just needs to balance out and integrate those tannins. Looking forward to trying again in 3-4 years.

Drank along side the 2018 Faultline barrel sample and a 2015 Oliver's Blend out of the bottle. Dark purple in color. More fruit (black fruit) on the nose than the Faultline and even more so than the 2015. Already very balanced and round on the palate. As expected - lots of tannin comes through towards the mid palate and finish. But given how young this is, overall its relatively soft and balanced already. This should be a great wine in 4-5 years.

I drank this as part of my barrel sample tasting of the 2018 Oliver's Blend. So this note could be colored by that experience. The color is a dark purple with a wet rockiness on the nose mixed with currants. On the palate this is so soft and well rounded. Great balance and the tannins are starting to integrate (but will get better).

After tasting the 2018, this just feel so much better integrated and put together. Soft and balanced. But that might have just been because the 2018 was so young out of barrel.

Very good and balanced. Nice as earthy and barnyard as the 2006 right now. Tannins were well integrated and this was very food friendly. Not a power house but was a perfect compliment to a good steak

Love this wine, the tannins are more integrated than a typical young Petite Sarah. It reminds me of a 20 year old aged California Cab. Lots of secondary and tertiary scents and flavors. Love this!

Love this wine, great balance with a strong backbone of Howell Mountain fruit. This has the structure and tannins I come to expect from Howell Mountain juice, but its more fruit forward and approachable than most HM fruit. Velvety smooth finish. Really outstanding.

Wow this is a great spot right now. Deep purple in color. A slight hint of Bordeaux on the nose but way more fruit driving Napa as you take it in. Veltvety structure on the palate with a complex yet smooth & long finish.

Super dark purple in color. The nose is a smokey mix of spices, earth scents and cigar box. On the palate this is a smooth and well balanced, great fruit and structure. Love the complexity on the finish. Classic Dunn if you like Dunn you will love this...

Solid wine. Dark purple in color. A typical higher end Napa cab. Decent fruit and structure but lacks a bit of compexity and power to make it truly interesting. Again solid but nothing special.

Very nice. Dark ruby red, almost purple in color. The nose is very smokey with a mix of meats and dark berry scents. On the palate this a well rounded wine with most dark fruit flavors the oak and tannins are well integrated. Good complexity and medium body. The finish is moderate with hints of complexity. Very well done.

Drinking this way too young, but I have 8 bottles of it and wanted to sample it. I decanted it for about an hour and its still very tight. This bottling is way more rocky and stoney on the nose and palate. Its austere and interesting. A solid structure and backbone, but lacking a bit of fruit. Interested to see how this develops. This is easily a 30 year wine if you want to wait that long. I plan to drink one ever 4 years or so.

Dark inky purple in color. Smokey mix if blackberry jam and violets on the nose. In the mouth this is a well structure wine that fully coats the palate. Great balance and solid blackberries in the fruit profile. Finish is complex and long. Very nice a real bargain for the quality IMHO.

Dark purple in color. A smokey nose with hints of plumb and violet. On the palate this is such a smooth and ready to drink wine. Perfect balance of fruit, structure and tannin. Lacks a bit of power and concentration for a higher rating. Finish is smooth but not complex. Very nice merlot drinking well now.

Dark Purple for a wine with 12 years of age on it. The nose is a smokey meat scent with hints of cedar. On the palate this is a silky smooth wine the fruit is still very concentrated but balanced. Maybe not as complex on the palate as I had hoped. Finish is long and smooth. This was really great I have been looking forward to this wins since I purchased on release. It did not disappoint. Still early into its drinking window and would expect it to continue to improve in the next 3-4 years.
