little bubbles and the nose was exceptional. Apples and baked bread. The complexity has died down a little but still a lot going on here. Drinking window is now.

Garnet in color gave some indication that this has years left and it really does. nose was good but it was the strength and finish this has on the palate that stood out. Tannins are just starting to integrate and the finish went on. Wish I had more.

At first pour from bottle very tightly wound. Went into decant for 2 hours and it really opened up nicely. Still has legs to it for sure.

This is very good and LP has always been consistent for us. Nose explodes with fresh bread and apricots. Good acidity and medium to long finish. Best offering I've had of this so far.

the fruit was very muted and didn't really have that pop. It had a nice nose but again just didn't jump out of the bottle. I guess I had higher expectations at this price point.

Medium bodied out of the bottle no decant. This was singing with fruit but lacked the earthiness I seek from Barolo. Nonetheless, this was a great effort and was well worth the price. I am always impressed with Michele's simplicity yet grace. I look forward to having more of these.

Opened with no decanting. The nose on this right out of the bottle was strong. For the first couple of hours this drank beautifully although reminded me of a left bank red as opposed to a right bank. After a few hours it started to shut down a little. This wine is in its drinking window and should improve with a couple of years in bottle. Nice wine

nice bouquet on the nose of cherries, just wonderful on the nose. The palate was very dry and the tannins were gripping. You can taste the potential here but needs a few more years in the cellar. Will try again in at least three years.

Was good but I think this needs a little more time. It didn't really have it all together in the end. Need a few years to mellow out.

Tannins well integrated and smooth. This is drinking really well and will continue for a while. Went well with bacon wrapped filets.

Popped and poured. This had a nice nose of dark cherry and truffles. Very old world and the tannins were nicely integrated. Don't think this will get any better but I think it had the legs to drink well for a few more years. good example of Barolo.

Popped and poured and was dark red. Very slight bricking. The nose just shot out of the glass of berries. The palate was very nice and I didn't pick up any of the vegetal notes seen in other posts. This wine was good and went well with the triple cream but I was underwhelmed considering this vintage. I wouldn't wait on these.

Upon opening it took a few minutes to get through a funkiness but after that it was nothing but smoothness. This was very mellow but complex, the acidity wasn't too intense. Nose had nice bouquet of flowers and palate was buttery. This is singing right now and had potential to get a little better, probably another couple of points better.

Popped and took a small pour. Color was dark red and nose showed hints of berries. On the palate the initial taste strong earth tones with gripping tannins. I let this sit for another hour and it started to smooth out a little. Once a couple of hours rolled by this started to shut down with tannin overtaking it. I think this still has time to develop but from the initial taste seemed like it could get to a few extra points. I will revisit in another couple of years.

Too alcoholic for my taste, especially for this price. Wasn't much of a fan.

Christmas dinner at Lucios. Huge nose of black cherry and leather. Tannins are nicely integrated and a medium length finish. Got better throughout the night. Its hitting on all cylinders right now and may get a little better with time.

My first experience with d'Yquem and it met all of my expectations. Nice complexity with so much going on it was a party on the palate. I can see this wine lasting for many more years. Great wine and glad to check it off my bucket list.

(Dinner @ lucio's) nice typical Cali cab nose surprising with the age. Palate was that of black berries and currant. It was mello but wasn't humming on all cylinders and not sure that it wil. Would like to see where it is in 2 yrs

Popped and poured. Cork looked great. Nice aroma and was very mellow on the palate. This was very good and I'm glad I opened it as it will not last more than another 3 years. Happy birthday dad.

Great nose of blackberry and cherry. Didn't decant and didn't really need it. This was drinking nicely, not much complexity but very easy to drink. On the third day this is still drinking well. Not sure this will improve much but very nice now.

Opened one hour before dinner, cork looked great. First sniff of the bottle was a little funky very soon became a nice bouquet of truffle. Color was still dark and could tell this was going to be a big pauillac. First taste was full of black berry and black cherry. Was very tightly wound but a nice expression of Bordeaux. Went excellent with the triple cream and filet.
3 hrs later, starting to close down. Overall, nice Bordeaux which showed signs of something great to come. Wil have to revisit in a few years as this one was still showing its youth. On to the cognac for the remainder of the Night. Cheers.

Popped and poured at Reef. A big typical California cab. No formal notes just from memory this was tightly wound and started to open up after an hour in bottle. Good wine but didn't stand up to the Quintessa on the table. Overall, good wine but not for the price.

Double decanted and let sit for 30 min. Nose was full of licorice and oozed Brunello. Tannins were very present on the palate even after 2 hours. I think this has the making of an excellent wine in 5-8 years...drinking well with a nice bone-in veal chop or an equivalent meat entree but will definitely improve with time.
