From magnum it was gorgeous - complex, superbly balanced and utterly enjoyable.

A jeroboam that wasn't as fresh as it must have been. A touch reduced as well, it improved after some 3h.

From magnum it was Big, bold and juicy. A touch young and I would hold it for some more years for optimal form.

The one under screcap was more precise, concise, primary and fruity. The one under cork had some musty, basement, automnal notes. Both great, but the one under screwcap was my preference.

Very good and classy, but seemed somewhat tight and restrained. Would give it a couple more years.

Tremendous acidity. Built for ages. Still a bit unbalanced, like a young grower champagne. Liked it a lot, but compared to a Pol Roger BdB 2002, it lacked class and harmony.

Outstanding complexity. Everything you would want from a VORS Oloroso.

Natural feel - some spritziness, like a Beaujolais, denser and more of black fruits.

Time did it some good. Even though it is still clearly a typical, mighty Toro, it has mellowed up now.

Quite ripe and giving for a grower champagne, which is not surprising given the 5g/l dosage. Feels quite mature, blind one would say it is from 90s.

The acidity is almost painful. Clean, linear, sharp, quite simple.

Lightbodied, somewhat rustic, which is not surprising. Better than one could expect, good overall, but doesn't overdeliver.

Gorgeous at this moment, gained so much complexity against a 2012 I had alongside. Both 2008 and 2012 were aged under screwcap and there was quite a difference. Wine under screwcap can age.

it has become more mellow and not as loud and forward as before. Excellent balance, so quaffable. One should age this wine for it to flourish.

Warm, full-bodied, soft-ish. Some reduction here. Corn. Not sure if I liked this one.

Sharper, more edgy than 2014. Citrus, some nuts, no florals here, good finish.

Mild, coffee, lots of smoke and coffee aromas here. Harmonious, caressing, develops note of salami. Gorgeous and WOTN for many.

Milky, soft, a bit smoky. Tartness on the palate, juicy, ripe, same tartness on the finish. With time in the glass the development is brilliant. So very complex and loud. A masterpiece.

Agressive bubbles. Even though it is a classic Champagne blend, it tasted to me of a Sauvignon blanc. Would not buy again for that price.

Aromatics of champagne and buckwheat, high acidity, very lively and intense unlike the big and plush 2009-2010 Francois Cotat we had alongside. Not as ripe as well. Relatively dense and tense.

More herbal and typical of Sancerre than 2005 Cotat we had alongside it, which in my book is not a plus. The last vintage of the simpler bottling by Dagueneau.
