1/12/17, 3:31 AM - Hi, Kirk. I drank that bottle at the Rebelle restaurant in NYC. He was not decanted and his appearance was perfect. I can not remember any significant sediment in that bottle. You're lucky to have that wine. It is very difficult to find.

This wine is still a pup. Hugely tannic and structured, but a great perfumed nose. Red fruits, smoke and olives. The palate was rustic and had a long finish. Needs time.

This is a bottle that can do many things. Age, drink, go well with food, especially classic French dishes. A bit pricey for Beaujolais but consider the prices for good old vine burgundy.

We finally opened this port. It's been at the top of our to drink list for a while. Just great, with lots of smooth fruit on the tongue and a long, long finish.

Not decanted. Awesome nose of cake icing, ripe but restrained blackberry and blueberry, dried dill, and crushed rocks. Huge palate of ripe black/purple fruit and raspberry liqueur, somehow not a heavy mouthfeel, then intense acidity that still needs time to calm down. Drink 2016-2020. 94-95 points.

This might not be a huge Cab but I haven't tasted a better Cab, ever. This is like being a kid in the 70's and going to A&W Root Beer and having an ice cold A&W RB float. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!

Polvo e risoto na casa da Tathi e Coxa: Red fruit, evolved, very complex, oaky. Great wine. Long with a complex oaky red fruit aftertaste. Tannins were softnen with the food.

6/2/13, 8:46 AM - In 2011, I did this trip by Piedmont. Fantastic wines, breathtaking foods and Bellagio..... If you have time, know the La Ciao Tournavento Restaurant in Treizo; the cellar is impressive. I also suggest, the restaurant Osteria dell Arco in Alba and wine store Grandi Vini di Alba in Alba.

Capellano is another level, but needs time.

Great wine. Started after opening as an over cooked wine. After 1 or 2 hours of decanting it became a balanced wine, with good acidity and resolved tannins. Red and black fruits, balsamic, mineral, very bold. Great pleasure and a few years of life ahead.

Incredible balance. Fantastic. Still young. Took a while to open in the glass. We drank at Fasano in commemoration of my 45th anniversary. Great night!
