Decanted through an aerator, left in the cellar for ten hours then consumed over three hours. The wine was quite intense upon first tasting, even a bit feral, but after a couple hours it segued into a fruit and texture driven beauty. Not really complicated in its youth but deeply satisfying for a huge wine.

Decanted 8 hours prior to consumption. Okay, I love the varietal and the winery so I am inclined to rate generously, especially when the wine is so delicious. Upon entry, the Mourvedre is clearly delineated and wrapped in a warm, smooth texture all remaining intact across the palate. This bottle was tasted against a 2018 Caliza Mourvedre also from the Willow Creek assignation which presented itself admirably.

Decanted for several hours. The bottle was all vanilla oak and no fruit. Drinkable but quite unsatisfactory after waiting five years.

Even after a several hour decant, day one was a struggle. Back in the bottle for day 2 which reflects its score. Adore this vineyard which has been sold to Realm so this appears to be the final vintage for local wineries. The signature straw-tinged fruit is masterfully merged in this beauty.

Oooh mommy, is this wine savory. I couldn't just let it sit, but at least I decanted for a full eight hours. Absolutely delicious from entry to finish.

Decanted for 4 hours then consumed over 2 nights. Hmm. Quite a different experience from the bottle I reviewed over a year ago. This bottle stressed power over both evenings without the typical elegant delivery expected from this producer. An interesting phase, though still quite enjoyable.

Decanted for several hours then consumed over two nights. Although the fruit was quite delicious, this bottle displayed a rather wild/hyper nature throughout each evening. Granted, night two presented a calmer product but still well short of an elegant delivery. Youth is the likely cause, methinks.

Decanted for an hour plus then consumed over the next three. After settling down this bottle was so obviously California Pinot with texture like thick flannel sheets, low key structure but good acidity, and a reverberating finish.

Decanted for a couple of hours then consumed over two evenings along side a 2017 Saxum Booker Vyd. Both wines have averaged just over 94 points to CT tasters. On night one, Saxum Booker was the clear favorite with a beautiful bouquet, smooth delivery, and expansive flavors. Both bottles displayed a little heat, but the Akasha also appeared a little disjointed and drowsy. Night two was a different story. There was no evident heat, both bottles showed well with the Akasha fleshier and more in control than the previous night. That, combined with a slight loss of energy from the Saxum resulted in a dead heat for this taster. Interesting.

Decanted for 90 minutes. It is difficult to see how this wine will improve. Rhubarb/strawberry pie delivered so smoothly across the palate. No histrionics here, rather a stately and controlled bottle.

Decanted for ten hours then consumed over two nights. Frankly, I expected this bottle to show better. Night one displayed a well made, but pretty straight forward bottle with tobacco tinged fruit and lissome in body. Even the tobacco was gone on night two leaving predominantly an acidic structure which was not all that compelling.

Decanted for two hours then returned to the bottle. I understand that this vintage was heralded by wine critics and maybe it will prove itself in years to come, but I do not think I have had a 2013 yet that has really impressed me. This bottle was well made but it did not feel together on night one nor night two although night one was better. Unnuanced big mountain fruit, pretty straight forward.

Decanted for 4 hours then consumed over the next 3. Initially the oak was a bit too obvious and the wine would begin to slip away at mid-palate. As the evening proceeded, this bottle added weight and direction. Beautifully balanced and quite solid with a very generous decant at this point.

Decanted for 4 hours prior to consumption and the wine changed very little thereafter. The Cab Franc zings out of the chute in this enticing, well-crafted right bank offering and takes charge throughout. Initial entry is sizeable and remains so through the finish being pushed along by developing texture. Still in formation, this bottle displayed excellent structure and pretty fruit,. As enjoyable as it was, I still wish I had waited another two years.

Decanted close to 4 hours. At this point, simply a nice bottle, larger than expected, very fruit driven with pronounced minerality on the finish. Inexpensive for the the attention it received, it has a strong chance at further development.

Decanted for 4 hours prior to consumption and it went quickly. Just a beautiful bottle of wine. So perfectly balanced with hints of complexity to come. Lightly mouthcoating, it radiates across the palate, no heat at all to mar its purity, and it echoes for such a long time. What a pleasure.

30 minute decant then consumed over the next 3 hours. Such a perfectly balanced wine with noticeable acid bringing brightness while soft tannins hold the body together. Powerful fruit but lightweight, the singular distraction was a hint of heat in both the nose and finish.

Consumed over two days with day two being much like day one. It was difficult having this wine as a stand alone at this point. It requires probably another 5 years to soften. Structurally, the acid is so abrasive and the tannins so strong that the large body of fruit remains incapable of being appreciated. I am just too old to wait.

Four hour decant. This youngster's showing is immediately incredible. Beautiful texture and very dark staining fruit are packed on a big frame. Perfectly smooth and balanced, it requires a few more years to develop the hints it offers to its complexity. Love what this winery has become.

Decanted for four hours and consumed over two nights, night two being the better. Three years ago this wine received my only 100 point rating. I think I caught it at a magic moment because there was a 98 score around the same time. I have been reluctant to go back to it, but maybe I should have tried another right away. Either the wine or I are in a different place at the moment. Silky in texture, the bottle was hot on night one, but night two was rich and satisfying.

90 minute decant. Okay, so I am not a big Sangiovese fan. I was hoping to be impressed with this 8+ year Brunello, but the attempt at elegance, though decent, did not overcome the rustic element I always seem to find. Well balanced with good acid and sufficient stuffing forces me to grade above the experience.

Decanted for 4 hours prior to tasting and it required another hour to resolve the alcohol. Almost port-like in its thickness and density, this bottle oozed across the palate. What it lacks in nimbleness is offset by smooth texture and an acidic backbone which enlivens the experience.

Very short decant then consumed over two nights. What a delicious bottle. Night one presented energetic and complicated fruit with a feral edge. Night two offered a broader, slightly softer angle of attack with added minerality at the finish. Very impressive.

I really do not like to spoil the party here, but last night's bottle was miserly. I believe I have had only a singular incident of enjoyment from the 2013 vintage. The wine was well-made but remained close-fisted throughout the evening offering little of what I assume is there to be enjoyed sometime in the future.

Easily one of the better 17's I have experienced. Loads of fruit cascade across the palate. It was consumed over two nights, the second reining in the gamboling fruit to a degree. Pleasurable now, but appears to have a respectable future.

Decanted for several hours then consumed over two evenings. I am going to assume that I consumed this bottle too early because there was not much to get excited about. Essentially, it presented as a not-so-super Tuscan since the Bordeaux components were seemingly absent. There was no detectable difference either evening. Methinks my tastes lie elsewhere.

Decanted for 90 minutes then consumed over two days. This bottle presented a pretty wine. The structure remained under the surface resulting in a fresh flow of fruit across the palate which held up through the finish. Not as broad-shouldered as other vintages but quite easy to drink.

Let me just echo MJP in the note prior to this. Tannins are substantial. Both nights one and two, however, a pour left for night three revealed a substantial muting of tannin but the fruit felt a bit tired. One needs to wait on this.

I drank this bottle over two days. The first evening was practically worthless even with a 3 hour decant as it offered little flavor or comportment. Day two was better due to a satiny texture, however, the flavor profile, even though it progressed from the sheepish oak the night before, remained significantly subdued. I admittedly was surprised given the winemaker's reputation for boldness. Other reviews herein suggest significant bottle variation at this point. What seemed like a sure hit is now ensconced in question marks.

Half filled bottle tasted on night two and it was not a pleasant experience. Being a past fan of Law wines, I have not been at all happy with their 2017 vintage to date. This bottle tasted overripe and the high alcohol harshly intruded on the back palate.

4 hour decant then consumed over two nights. Although night one was good, night two was measurably better and an ounce left in the glass on day three was even further resolved. Yes, the wine is still young with structure showing a bit too much muscle, but the beautiful fruit is beginning to saturate the palate. This bottle showed superb balance and finally hints at a timeline for these heralded 2013's.

Decanted for one hour then consumed over the next three. Right off, I am not a big fan of this producer. I enjoy some aspects of his place in the wine spectrum but have never been hooked on the entire package. Given the number of rabid fans and high scores, I keep trying. This bottle was quite smooth and nicely textured with a long finish. All delicious. On the other hand, I had problems with the sweetness and it cried out for acid as it strolled along on the lower part of the palate. I repeatedly feel an incompleteness in the experience. A void which I cannot seem to identify. Sometimes, I even get the sense that I am drinking an alternative beverage. But I have a little of the 2016 and 2018 so maybe. Nobody likes a quitter.

Decanted for 6 hours then consumed over the next three. Such an interesting wine. I believe this was the year when Paso unknowingly mislabeled bottles as Monestrell which serendipitously turned out to be Graciano. It has a strong supporting role in this concoction which also includes Viognier at an eye-catching 10%. And it all works in a dazzling way largely due to such competent and creative crafting. I cannot remember tasting anything like it. Presently, there is a slight imposition of tannin at the finish, but in a year or two, for me, this should approach perfection.

A feminine Rhone blend, soft and demure over the first hour then offering a more saturated palate as the evening advanced. Entering early adulthood, this bottle stands out for its elegant progression from front to back.

Decanted for 2 hours then consumed over two nights, the wine being returned to the bottle and corked after the first night . Night two was the clear winner giving a dazzling performance. Most noticeable was the mouth-coating saturation of succulent fruit. There remains slightly too much tannin at the finish although the strands are elegantly crafted. Just beautiful development.
