Hard to believe its a second wine. This is as good as any Pape Clement Ive ever had. Lassis Graves from huge bouquet through a long, complex finish. All the grapes come into play. Structured is the operative term. The Cabernet is dominant but the secondary grapes, Petit Verdot? Malbec? help to provide the definition.

This wine is certainly elegant and complex, but not the typical opulent mouthful of juice that you would expect from a Corton grand cru. In that sense it is a bit disappointing. Decanted and poured, it was at first a tad flat in the mid palate. The longer it was in the glass the better it got. There was cinnamon, chocolate and just a touch of cola in the flavor. Excellent with roast chicken. While not inexpensive, it was far more affordable than many other Burgundies and new world top Pinot Noirs. Happy to have another bottle.

This wine is an anomaly. Its inexpensive but drinks at a lot more than the price. Theres a goodly amount of complexity from mis palate thru the finish. It has pineapple, grapefruit and a touch of steely herbaceousness.

Simple, middle of the road Chardonnay. Pretty well balanced and food friendly. Excellent QPR.

Perfect place from bouquet thru long complex finish. Profile is predominantly root bear and cola; lighter on the cherries than most WS Pinots. Thoroughly enjoyable and a great compliment to a chicken cacciatore dinner.

Much like the 2016. A solid, simple, but tasty wine. Lots of berries in the profile. Its young so let it sit in the glass for a bit. Great buy for under $6.00 a bottle with a case purchase at Costco.

Okay wine. Not as good as the previously consumed bottle. Decent varietal flavor profile but pretty one dimensional.

With another year in the bottle, it takes a leap forward. All the raspberries, chocolate and cola have
Married to form a fragrant complex wine.

My local Winn Dixie is pretty much dumping their inventory of this wine. True Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Light n body, but laden with dried fruit, cinnamon, cola and a little cherry flavor. Nice finish with some complexity to it. Worth it a full price, the steal of the year at $4.00 a bottle.

Consumed over two nights. Definite Tuscan flavors. Upfront richness in the bouquet carries over through the middle and then abruptly falls off at the end to really no finish. Would not pay full price for this but at $4.00 a bottle its an okay pizza and pasta wine.

My first Gruner Veltiner. I found this bottle to be bone dry, citrusy and slightly acerbic. While I found the profile to be a bit off putting, I think it was a serious effort and my opinion is the result of my preferences as to what makes an enjoyable wine. Ill look to try another producer for a second sampling.

Consumed over two nights and probably much too early. No discernible varietal flavors only a very long mouthful of tannic liquid. Cannot rate this at all.

My last bottle and like the others a very enjoyable, food friendly Brunello. At this point however, the fruit has begun to dissipate and its beginning to go into decline, but graciously so. Start finishing up what you have over the next year or so.

Soft tannins and a chewy body in a complex melange of flavors. Chocolate, coffee and cola all melding together into a long, moderately complex finish. Great compliment to a balsamic chicken and sausage skillet dinner.

Lighter in body than many Kosta Brownes, but also more elegant. Totally delicious.increased in enjoyability apthe linger it was opened. Root beer, cinnamon, dried fruit in a long complex finish. What you would hope for and expect in a Kosta Browne Pinot Noir.

The archetypical Williams Selyem Pinot Noir. Cherries, berries and a touch of cinnamon offering complexity from bouquet through a complex finish. The third and last wine consumed during a chicken cacciatore dinner - the first a fruit laden 2015 Ponzi Docetto followed by a lean, elegant complex 2016 Inglenook Cabernet and then this Pinot. Its in a perfect place for drinking right now.

Expected more. Its missing something tart (maybe citrus?) to give it some character in its finish. Without this, the wine is bland and boring.

Very approachable, easy drinking Crianza. Lots of fruit filled, Tempranillo flavors. Reminds one of a sun filled day in the country, having a great picnic lunch. Best served slightly chilled.

Definitely did not expect this to be sooooo good. Perfectly balanced from a bouquet redolent of some raspberries, a touch of cherries and cola into a long constantly morphing finish. It would have been a bargain at full price, but at a 50% discount it ranks as one of the great bargains.

Our last bottle and at close to 15 years old, better than all the others consumed. Bone dry, citrusy with a mild yeastiness. Very balanced with a long complex finish.Started off with it before dinner and will finish with a roast chicken, potato latkas and a melange of carrots and green beans roasted in a baste of vanilla-maple syrup, orange champagne vinegar and avocado oil.

Kind of light in body. It did very well in a French 75. On its own, while not very special, it was light and pleasant, particularly considering its price and the fact it was at least seven years old.

As always, the Williams Selyem Heinz Vineyard Chardonnays are very special. They are heavier in body than most world class Chardonnays from all countries. Yet they retain an elegance, balance and complexity that few can match. This was laden with flavors of vanilla, pears and some pineapple. Yes, its expensive, I think the current vintage weighs in at $85, but it out shines many of those Chardonnays priced at over $100. Its one of those very special occasion wines to have in your cellar.

Consumed over two nights. Ive been drinking Valla Spannas since the 1970s. They are now made by Antonios children who continue with producing Nebbiolo that at time rivals Barolo and Barbaresco of much higher prices. This is one of the entry level wines and doesnt approach the quality of its vaunted cousins. However it still is quite good. Its light in body, has varietal flavors, but really doesnt have a lot of fruit. It does have a very long, well balanced finish and an excellent QPR. This possibly could get better with some more bottle age.

Thought it would be an excellent bargain when I purchased the case at at least a 50% discount. Even better than I thought it would be. Beautiful from bouquet thru finish. So glad I have a lot more.

Lots of sour cherry flavors integrated into a long, complex peppery finish. A bit short on the front end. Also, wish it had a little more body to it. Yet, this is still a wonderful bottle of Nebbiolo at a great QPR. But dont let the price fool you. Im also sure that like past Vallana bottling, this will drink well for many more years.
