This is a baby, even after a decant of over an hour. As you'd expect, no sediment. I'll try another bottle in a year.

Cork disintegrated. Decanted through cheesecloth, quite a bit of sediment. Slightly past peak but actually opening up after an hour in decanter. Served at 64F with Buffalo rib eye, Sous Vide and finished over natural wood charcoal.

The best wine I've had all year!
Huge mouth-filling flavors amd aromas in the very dark liquid; Cassis, blackberry, of black fruit, almonds, pencil shavings. Round and soft on the palate in spite of a nearly 16% abv! Opulent dark cherry, jam, and caramel lead to a velvety finish. There's a long life ahead for this wine and I wish I had a case.
Decanted, very little sediment, served at about 60F with Prime Rib at home.

Darker than most Pinot Noirs - almost a Cabernet Sauvignon color. Some bricking on the rim that seemed to dissipate over time.
Aromas of fig, prune, blackberry, raspberry, black currant (cassis), forest floor and cedar and some eucalyptus. Flavors of blackberry and black currant and ripe Raspberry. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity. Upon opening, this seemed to be just past peak but after an hour in decanter, the wine returned to it's youth and was delicious. Very light sediment. 14.2% abv, served at 60+ degrees F with Pasta Carbonara.

Served at 65F with grilled steaks, potatoes and Brussels Sprouts.

Just about everything I look for in a young Riesling. Dry with nice acidity, some light petrol aromas, good minerality, unripe white peach, tree fruit and floral aromas and flavors.

My go-to California Chardonnay. It's all about balance (i.e.: not an oak bomb) and flavor (a pure expression of the fruit)!

A big, full bodied Pinot Noir. Deep Garnet, notes of clove and ripe raspberries on the nose. Flavors of ripe red fruit and berries, namely cherry and raspberry, and clove on the finish. Decanted, a little sediment, served at about 60F. Really nice.

Decanted for over a hour and really a wonderful wine! Licorice up front with a leather finish. Nice rounded flavors and integrated tannin. No sediment. Served at 65F with a rich, cheesy, Italian-style dish. No where near a downhill slide but it's so good, why not drink up?

Not a bad "pizza wine" but at about $40, way too costly; make it $11.99 and I'm a fan. Looks like a Pinot Noir, tastes like a Chianti. It is hard to know if this will improve with age so I suggest "Drink up" (as if anyone else has some of this!). Bought at the winery after a wedding and a great tour of the facility.

Showing its age upon opening but rounding out nicely after a one hour decant with very little sediment. Big, chewy, dark wine. Black, ripe Currants, leather, licorice, earth, cooking spices. Complimented a rich beef short rib, asparagus and sautéed potatoes perfectly.
I'd drink up within the next 6 to 12 months.

Bright wine to the eye and on the palate. Raspberry, Cherry, cooking spices even some eucalyptus. A pleasure to drink.

After a one hour decant with vigorous swirling, the dark, inky wine in this bottle didn't begin to open up. It had the signature of Syrah, but was just too young to show to it's potential, IMO. I'll try another bottle in 6 months. A restrained 13.3 % abv, no sediment, served at 66F with cast iron seared been filet.

Drinking very well but I wouldn't wait much longer than another year. Upon opening, it was clear that this is a 10 year old wine with some bricking around the edge. After some in decanter, the maturity of this wine became apparent and very enjoyable. The "false" impression of sweetness, as one sometimes gets in a Zinfandel, gives way to full bodies depth and a nice finish.

Wow, what a Shiraz! Cellartracker says drink by 2017. This is drinking very, very well right now! As Parker, who gave it a 94, says: roasted herbs, fudge. Blackberries, espresso. I'm not a Parker follower but he's right on point with this wine.
A big, full bodied, thick red wine. Decanted, some fine sediment. Served at 66F.
Had with stuffed zucchini. I give it 4.5 out of 5 "stars" (whatever they are).
(I gotta love that cork, too!)

At 9 years young, this bottle has started to decline which surprised me. It had the driest cork I can recall, which might have had something to do with it. An aroma of dust with subtle fruit. Some bricking on the edges. Decanted, mainly due to the crumbled cork, and opened up but just a little in glass. Quite drinkable but I'm glad I didn't wait any longer.

Wow! Surprisingly (at least to me), very good! I believe this is declassified wine from an unknown but stellar Oakville producer, purchased and bottled under the Barrique Cellars label. At the first sip, I knew this was special juice. Deep garnet in the glass. Aromas of earth, eucalyptus, dirt, Forrest floor and ripe, dark fruit. Flavores of cassis, plum, dark cherries, black raspberry and currant. A very memorable wine!
Decanted for an hour or so, some sediment. Serving temperature ~68F with stuffed flank steak, baked potato and Brussels Sprouts.

Decanted two hours, quite a bit of sediment.
The wine looks inky colored. There is heavy sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, black currant (cassis), red currant, prune, dust, forest floor, lead pencil, violet and eucalyptus. It tastes like blackberry, red currant, black currant (cassis), dust, forest floor, cedar, vanilla, lead pencil and eucalyptus. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Wow, big, tight wine. Double decanted with vigorous swirling. Began to open up after several hours and even the dregs the next morning were pretty wonderful!

It tastes like forest floor, dust, blackberry and black currant (cassis). The body is full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Every once in a while, I taste a wine that just makes me stop whatever I'm doing and be as completely in the experience as I can. This was such a wine. Descriptors like cherry and raspberry, sort of lose their meaning. Decanted, no sediment, serving temp about 68F.

CORKED!
A corked wine is solely the fault of the bottler - not the distributor, not the retailer and not the consumer. A wine maker of this caliber should not be associated with a corked bottle.

This is a huge Napa Cab. It dominated everything at the table and as such, put dinner out of balance. Very well made, great nose and rich black fruit but this needs, IMHO, years more to mature.

Took well over 2 hours to open up in decanter then it was delicious. Before that, just a nice red blend. I should have decanted sooner and/or aggressively swirled the decanter.
Had with Beef Wellington.

WOW - what great Quality/Price ratio. This wine drank beautifully with dish made up of Mushrooms & Pasta smothered in a cream sauce! No hint of the 14.5% abv. Dark cherries, tobacco, some earth and medium acidity - everything balanced. One hour decant with zero sediment.
So much for CT suggested drinking windows!

Big, full-bodied, long finish. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Malbec 15% Cabernet Franc. Dark fruit, tobacco, earth, leather. Needs more time in the cellar or a long decant. Screams for a thick grilled steak. No sediment yet.

Pale straw. Lemon, apple, Quince, just a little oak that was well integrated, nice acidity.
I'll buy more for sure.

It appears that this bottle got warm (or hot) at some point as it was hand carried from South Africa by my brother: the cork had moved out, popping off the top of the capsule. Interestingly, it didn't taste too bad on day 4 after opening. I would like to taste a sound bottle of this wine as it seems to have had great potential.
