Pretty much the same as my last comments. Very approachable with some extra time for air. Still better day two. Nice level of fruit, finish, dark fruit. Really nice Girard cab. Honestly, I still think the potential is here for a 92-93. Window might be a little longer than 2027 but would expect improvement to happen over the next 2-3 years. Enjoy.

I think this is still a little young. It is approachable with some extra time for air. While it is ready now with some air, I think the window on this wine is another 5 years versus 2022. Definitely better day two. Nice level of fruit, forward but not a fruit bomb. Really nice cabernet. I don't normally reference another wine in comments, but we opened a '15 Girard Mt Veeder cabernet when we finished the Mauser. Honestly, I think the potential here is for a 92-93 same as the Girard. I wish we would have acquired more than 2 bottles. Enjoy.

Much better than the first bottle from a few years ago. This is integrating well at this point. Tannis are softening a bit, dark fruit on the finish - black cherry, and overall enjoyable. Needs air for sure. Drinking well now and should improve some over the next several years. Drink now with some air.

Very nice - drinking well now. Probably won't improve more with time in the cellar at this point but can be held beyond the current window. I would say - 3-5 years. Dark fruit, integrated nicely, dry, and medium finish. Cheers.

Outstanding - I would say better on day 2 & 3 as I enjoyed this over 3 nights. Nice balance between nose, texture, and finish. Dark fruit, nice long finish and integrated more than bottles consumed earlier. This will cellar for several more years - at least 5 IMO. Enjoy!

Still a little young, but the promise is here. Anxious to let it set some more to see how the next year moves the needle. So far - very nice nose, subtle fruit, medium finish and very dry. I would expect (hope) that as it integrates a bit more the rating will climb a point or two. Enjoy (with some air) now, but will be better if you are patient.

Very nice, our 1st bottle in this case - I noticed the nose as soon as I poured this Bordeaux along with a nice balance of fruit (dark fruit/black cherry), structure, balance and finish. Well integrated already. It may improve some if properly cellared, but with a little air it is ready now. Drink window may go beyond 2025. Cheers!

Last bottle - very nice wine. Drinking well through the last bottle and while drinking great now, it might be fine for another year or so if properly cellared. Nice nose with fruit, oak, heat all integrated. Finish medium with hints of dark fruit. Enjoyable.

Still my favorite Girard Cab - the '13 Howell Mountain is just excellent in my opinion. Drinking really well across the board. This will cellar for another 5 years with some improvement, and probably hold well for an additional 5-7 years.

Hard to believe this was the last of our '06. Still holding on pretty well, but you should consume within 24 hours or so after opening. We are fans of La Vieille Cure and in an off year for Bordeaux the '06 offered both quality and value. If you are holding on to a few bottles - I would consider moving up your consumption plans sooner than later.

Just outstanding! This bottle has been in the cellar for several years waiting for my retirement. Very nice from the nose with subtle fruit, pencil shavings, and bit of cedar through the full finish. Completely integrated. Garnet color and a silky texture to the experience. Drinking well now for sure, will probably integrate the tannins a bit more, but not sure it will improve much above where it sits today. I should have bought a couple bottles when I had the chance at a lower price point. Even at current price point - this is worth the price. Enjoy!

Final - my last bottle. This wine is a great example of how a proper Bordeaux improves with age. Ten years ago this was really good, five years ago it even better, and then it just settled into a fully integrated joy to drink. I agree the barnyard blows off quickly, the fruit is subtle (but distinct), and finish is silky smooth lasting a bit longer than expected. Don't think it needs any more time in the cellar and if properly laid down should hold for some more years. Looking forward to the '05 now. Cheers!

Nice Cabernet. Definitely ready to drink now - although we have been mixing in a bottle every once in awhile for the past two years. Doesn't need as much time to open today. Agree it is modest fruit forward with some dark fruit. I was tasting black cherry and enjoyed a medium finish. Still needs to open up so decant or vinturi. We just purchased a 3rd round of this wine - the QPR is outstanding.

We find Belle-Vue always steady - good value, nice balance, and worthy of some space to lay in the cellar to age. The '09 is a great example of a better than average Chateau in a very good year. The nose is distinct, hints of dark fruit, medium finish with flavors of dark cherry. It has hit the end of its window in terms of improvement IMO. It will hold for another year or so, but it is time to drink up.

Still drinking really well. This note is on day two. I think a little more time in cellar and it might improve a touch more. The alcohol could integrate a little more and take it up another point. Nice balance of nose, fruit, finish at a great price point. '13 & '14 were solid years for Napa cabs, and this Chad is solid. Enjoy. We will wait another year for next bottle.

Very nice wine. Compared to previous bottles I would say it has opened up a bit in a positive way. That said it was still better day two, so needs some air or a decant. For a Napa Bordeaux blend it sits somewhere between a little less dry than a traditional Bordeaux and a less bold than a traditional Napa Cab. We like both, so this works for us since it has qualities of both. I can see how some folks might think this misses the mark with what you expect from an ACV big cab. Glad we still have a couple in the cellar. This will hold for another 4+ years, but might not improve much more. Enjoy!

Haut-Bergey is always enjoyable. The '12 is solid and I would say continues that rating overall. Nice nose, dark fruits with a black cherry leaning finish. This could improve a little, but not much in my opinion. This was the first of six bottles purchased, so we will see if I settle on a little lower or higher rating - for now 89-91.

A couple bottles into this purchase and I am updating my previous score upwards. This cabernet is a full bodied, well integrated, and ready to drink wine. From the nose to hints of dark fruit it is just enjoyable to drink. An extra six months in the cellar has extended the finish and deepened the fruit and oak integration. Glad I have several bottle left to enjoy over the next few years. Enjoy!

Nice wine. Given QPR and the potential I think this makes for a great weeknight pour. Nice nose, dark fruit and hints dark cherry. Better day two, so I would say give it some air and given a little more time to better integrate maybe a 90 down the road. Should cellar for another 5-6 years, but good to go now with some air.

This is our first bottle of 6 we opened with friends to socially distance and toast Thanksgiving. We have been patient to open and it was worth the wait. Classic Margaux style. We opened and let it breathe for about 5 hours. The nose was subtle, light, dry, with a medium finish. The second pour was better than the first as it began to open a bit more. A really nice Bordeaux early in the drinking window. I would expect the nose to become more present and stronger hints of dark fruit on the finish with a little more time in the cellar. Enjoy now with some air and maybe a decant.

Still a little young, but approachable with some extra time for air. Definitely better day two. Nice level of fruit, forward but not a fruit bomb. Really nice cabernet like all of the Girard cabs. Honestly, I wish I would have been a bit more patient because I think the potential is here for a 92-93. I will spread the remaining 3 bottles out over the next several years. On par with the '13 with potential to be even better with a little more time in the cellar. Enjoy.

Very nice wine. I was anxious to try my first bottle - so, I might be a little early. Took a little time to open up, better day two. Fruit on the nose and definitely present, but not overly fruit forward like some big cabs. Finish is medium with dark fruit. Overall, I think this will improve with a bit more rest in the cellar. If you open it in the near term, give it some air. Potential is probably more like 91+ with a window 2021-2027. Enjoy.

Nice wine - balanced with a touch of dark cherry on finish. Compared to some overpowering cabernet this wine is subtle. We liked it very much. Better on day two. This will improve some with more time in the cellar and should remain enjoyable for another 8-10 years. 89-90

Really liked this Cabernet. 2013 continues to provide a consistent experience across Napa Cabs. Don't have the '05 & '07 reference point that has been mentioned, but I found the wine to be balanced, with a nice nose, dark fruit and medium finish. Definitely not a fruit bomb. So, if that is your preference this wine won't work for you. I think this wine is in the drink window for sure, it might improve a little over the next 4 to 5 years, and can lay in a cellar for 7 to 10 years. Enjoy!

At one point I thought this might rate a little higher, but as I have consumed bottles it is holding solid at 90. Given this is from 2008 I am still impressed with this wine. Always a nice reward for being patient. Fully integrated at this point with a few more years in the window.

Second bottle and every bit as good as the first bottle - really drinking well. It is always nice to find consistency a year and half later. Maybe a bit more integrated with great nose, fruit, and finish. We consumed this in an evening with guests, so no day two comment. We let it breathe for about 20 minutes before we poured our first glass. Overall, not sure it will improve from here, but doesn't need to. Enjoy!

No real change from previous rating other than it remains a consistently outstanding wine and still has several (6-8) years to go in my opinion. This was our 7th bottle of the case and it remains the choice when we want something a little special.

Big fan of Meander. It easy to enjoy a nicely balanced wine that has developed and integrated. '12 and '13 are a toss up for the better year, but you won't be disappointed with either. Subtle fruit with a hint of other flavors depending on what else you are enjoying. Drinking well now, but I would agree this will cellar nicely 5+ years if not longer. I would give it a little air. Enjoy.

Outstanding! This is a favorite Chateau and the '09 is drinking really well now. You will find some sediment at the end. While this is ready now, it will age for a few more years and could improve a bit more. We are still holding back vintages to '04 in the cellar. Enjoy.

Probably the best way to understand our rating is that we purchased a second case a few months later. Classic Napa Cab - great fruit, flavors of dark fruit, and very nice finish - not too bold. This will age well over the next several years, integrating even more. Drinking well now at a price point at least half the cost of comparable Napa Cabs.

OK - I couldn't wait to taste this even though the drink window is '21-'31. Hard to imagine this needs a couple years - give it a little air and it is good to go now. Already showing nice balance. Subtle nose, layers of fruit, and a surprising finish for such a young cab. I think letting the heat blow off is important if you are drinking early, but this is just going to get better in my opinion. Enjoy!

Purchased this over 5 years ago and decided it was time to see how it had aged in the cellar. What a nice surprise - this is drinking very well now. Light on the nose, but full of subtle fruit and a soft fruit finish - not overpowering, but clearly present. My wife felt the same way and we are glad we purchased six bottles. Anxious to see how the remaining bottles go over the next few years. I suspect the window of 2015-2021 is the right target.
