A bit closed on opening, still opening 45 minutes later. Nose is opening, nice herbal notes, very clean. Color is beautiful, no real "core" pretty much garnet thru and thru, no bricking. On the palate its very smooth, satin, and has a very long sweet finish.

Classic nose, really big classic Napa cab. Color is dark, not much bricking. Deep core. On the palate fruit is slightly dried out, dusty. Great even mid palate and finish ... classic Napa. Wine opened up some over the next hour, the dusty taste settled out .

Deep color, nice nose, subtle spice. Nice mouthfeel, not too panic. Nice finish as well, well balanced, early in the drinking window.

Coming into its own, great nose, you can still smell the fruit. Color is dark with no bricking or color on the edge. Nice finish, little austere and stemmy but that may blow off over the next hour... this is just out of the bottle.

Did not take notes, still has a small upside and is wonderfully balanced with a nice finish. Fruit is starting to hit a peak. Had with braised short ribs.

Beast of a wine, not much upside but it should ride this crest for another 5 years. Everything is put together in this wine, nothing subtle, nothing out of balance. great expression of Cali Cab.

took about 30-40 minutes for this to finally open up. Nice nose, NO FRUIT to speak of, needs to be had with food. Color was very good, almost no bricking, clean. Finish was nice, kept saying "go ahead take another sip" .... which i did... biggest disappointment was the fruit had all dried up ...

Still young in the glass, no hint of bricking on the edges, deep opaque. Nose was a straight forward without any real complexity but solid, nothing off at all. Seemed just a bit flat and dry but the fruit is still there. Excellent finish. teetered between 94 and 95 points but settled on 94 for lack of complexity... that could be just me. Beautiful Bordeaux none the less.

This was pop and pour, the odd start last time was gone and this seems to be moving in a positive direction. Still some meat on the palate balanced nicely with acidity to hold it up. The nose is fairly straight forward, not too exotic... still has upside.

@Seablue in Myrtle Beach. With Scallops and the combo was awesome. The wine has a great balance of fruit and acidity, with just the right of mineral and oyster to let you know its Chablis... really solid bottle showing great right now.

@Seablue in Myrtle Beach. Opened about 45 minutes before drinking. The nose is classic Bordeaux with moderate intensity. On the palate, well balanced but fell a little short of what the nose offered up, the wine is just a little short on fruit. Nice finish with a slight tannic edge. Really nice wine.

The nose was very good, nice color with no real hints of any age or bricking. The wine did not follow through on the mid-palate but did hav a nice finish. Solid pinot, will wait another 6 months to a year to try again as the wine seems to be closed a bit right now.

Waaaay too young, this was like cough syrup out of the bottle but after 45 minutes or so it started to even out and went remarkably well with food (Tenderloin Tostata and Butternut Squash Ravioli). I will wait for another 5 years to touch these.

Lots of discussion about this wine, people either love it or hate it. Maybe there is bottle variation. My last bottle of Togni (not the 97) was a flop, I was expecting great things and the wine just never got there, nothing to spit out but nothing where I was looking for more either. Odd thing was I pulled this because it was easy to get to in my cellar... anyway to the wine. The nose was full, not explosive but very full. Cherries and some small secondaries of cigar box and leather just making a small bid on the nose. The mouth was very full, and balanced.Nice silky tannins that led to a 30-45 second finish. This is more along the lines of what I expected... still has lots of life left but not much upside...

First, no pre mox....

Great chablis at a great time. Had with Lobster and the pair went great. Color was slightly more yellow (not gold) than the last time. Still has a mineral bite to it, but smooth and full on the pallet and going down. Finish that lasted for 30-40 seconds... I realize these are not great descriptors but I do know a good wine and this was a goos wine.

Nice wine, well balanced, not over the top... very subtle. Threw a very small amount of sediment. Smooth on the palette just a hint of alcohol. Super finish, not particularly long but certainly did make the point that I need to come back for more :).

I am no white burg expert but I really liked this wine, still light gold in color with a really nice nose. On the palate it had a nice hint of mineral and maybe just the slightest bit of oak, the fruit was all there... the only downside was maybe just a bit too much acid that gave the wine a slightly tart finish... as I said I'm no expert but this was one I like alot. I'll wait another year at least before i go back to try another.

Pop and Pour, well balanced but slightly muted. drank 1/2 the bottle and put the rest in the fridge. 24 hours later this was much better, alot more acidity showing thru gave it the extra dimension it was lacking the first day. Really well balanced and better the second day. Will open earlier next bottle.

Wow is this in its prime, opened about 2 hours prior to drinking. Still purple-ish vs brickish on the color with a solid core. the ose is wide open, on the palate this is very smooth with fine grained tannins. A full palate and nice clean finish... had with Rosemary Lamb which it paired very well. Wish I had alot more of these, still has 5-7 years on it but if you want to hit it on the upside of prime now is the time. Enjoy if youve got any..

golden yellow color, nice even nose. On the palate slight minerality, no real sense of flowers or citrus as described by some others, more clean fruit with well integrated oak. Nice finish. Well made solid, don't hold too much longer as there does not appear to be any upside.

Opened (not decanted) 3 hrs prior. The color is just begininng a slight change toward red from purple, without any bricking on the edge. Good solid core. The nose was very alive with cherries and spices. On the palate the first taste was a bit off, almost effervescent... but the fruit was still rock solid... odd but not not off. After the initial "boing" it settled down nicely, had with a veal chop and the pairing went very nicely. The finish was clean, not very long maybe 10-15seconds. If there is a mark of a good solid wine, I did not realize it was gone and went to get more from the bottle and had a small tinge of dissapointment that it was gone.

This was goo, way too much extraction and oak for my tastes. Did not give it the benefit of much air, but it did not give me any indication it was going to smooth out and turn into anything over time. I do have one more bottle and will tray again in 2013 or so.

Deep purple, very big nose. The nose was a big blueberry pie. Big and smooth on the palate, could be a meal all itself. Nothing overly complex but nice fruit driven flavors. The finish was 30 seconds and left a nice impression. This isn't going to be confused with a Hermitage but for an Aussie it was very good.

Opened for about 30-45 minutes, not decanted. Dark with a very big nose, cherry, a hint od spice, well balanced with nothing offputting. The first sip was very tannic, possibly shock as I went from champagne. That aspect eased considerably as we went on. On the palate the wine was big and well balanced, everyone at the table liked it alot, I think I was more affected by the tannin than the others. Ther was a noticable finish of 30-40 seconds. Still has a youthfull feel to it with lots of fruits.

Color is light golden, nice viscosity in the glass. The nose expodes with citrus and fruits, pineapples, orange peel. The palate was smooth with a nice balance of sweetness and acidity. This was much more like a young Quarts de Charme than a young Geman Riesling. Nice looooong finish with that "clings to parts of your mouth you didn't know you had" aftertaste. i should wait but probably won't.

In honor of Robert, exhumed from the original wooden case. The color was a nice red-brick red with a deep core, no real fading of the colorat the edges. The nose was muted at first but opened over the hour before we drank, opened up with fruit and leather, missing the cedar I was looking for. On first taste, simply beautiful, nothing really big or over the top...just plain beauty. Wonderful finish, sweet edge with a really nice texture. Well done Robert, RIP.

Drak, Dark, Dark. Opened 3+ hours prior to pouring. Great nose, expodes out of the glass. Nice velvety texture with a very balanced finish that lasts a good 30-40 seconds. I suspect without the significant time to breath this would have been a little more muted.

STILL purple, 10 years in bottle and no age. Nose is a big blueberry pie, some hints of alcohol on the nose for the first hour. Absolutley nothing going on as far as complexity or secondaries; nothing wrong either, maybe this stuff takes 20 years because I sure could not tell it was 10 years old. Silky smooth on the palate, nice finish that lasted 40 seconds with just a hint of oak. Overall a nice wine but at 10 years I would expect something to have happened, softer, more open, with some secondaries. Try again in a few years.

Nice wine, nice color, slight bricking on the edges. The nose was sweet fruit and most of the youthful rasberry/blueberry was gone and replaced with some secondaries, leather, cedar some hint of spice. The palate was very balanced with no real downside, no upside either..it was followed by a nice 10-20 second finish. Solid but not exceptional.

This was still purple, young looking with no bricking and a solid core. Decanted about 1.5 hours and drunk over 2 hours. Has a sweet core, not cloying with a nice finish, smooth and not overdone. This did not taste like candy or cough syrup like some other Shiraz I have had recently. Blueberries. The finish went on for 30-40 seconds. Best drinking Shiraz I've had in a while.

opened for about hour, very expansive nose. Deep, dark wine that was thick looking. It looked and smelled like it was going to great. On the palate the heat and tannin was overwhelming...ther wasn't much stuffing under there either. This eased up slightly but not enough to get this over the top. As it's an '03 it may be in a transitional phase, it's about the right time for this to happen but this wine was all over the place. It was drinkable but not nearly what I expected. If the heat eases up and the wine comes together this will be a really good bottle of wine, if not I've got a case of plonk...I gave it a 90 because the individual components were solid, they just were not playing well together right now.
