On the watermelon side of the rose experience. Liked better at the tasting than when opened at home.

Agree with GTFREEK’s tasting note only I loved the red fruit overtones and enjoyed the tartness. Another lighter bodied, lower alcohol and inexpensive red wine that pairs well with Virginia summers
Red
Tasty light bodied, high acid, red fruited summer red. My first experience with gutturnio. Will try a frizzante next. Easily worth the small change it took to buy it.

Too long ago to remember details but this rose was unique and an excellent value at less than $11.
White
Very light, soft apple and citrus fruit, light acidity. Disappointing.

It’s remarkable how these A-N Syrahs come out of their reductive hiding if you wait long enough. I drank this three weeks ago so details are lacking. But the experience was as recent tasters have expressed. Garnet with purple highlights, savory, bramble and vegetal elements superimposed on red fruit, smoked brisket, medium acidity and moderate length. Excellent balance. Agree with comments about lighter body which leaves me a bit wanting but the overall experience is easily positive. I just wish it didn’t take so long.

Pale gold, aromas of apple, pear, citrus and minerals. Medium+ body, medium acidity and fine to medium bubbles. Palate reflects the nose with apple, pear, citrus and honey accompanied by minerals and a satisfying earthiness. Paired nicely with lobster risotto

Light, moderately fine bubbles, apple and honey, minerals, graphite finish. Whatever it lacks in fruit, it makes up for in crispness. An inexpensive summer Prosecco.

A completely unique wine experience from the gem-like color, light body and transitional red-rose palate to the balanced acidity and microfine tannins. At a perfect drinking point. It took awhile to understand this wine and it’s cellaring needs, but it is eminently clear that I should have purchased more. Great summer wine too.

70% Grenache, 30% Carignan, Mourvedre, Syrah, Counoise, Muscardin, Vaccares at low yields, it would seem in skilled hands. Decanted for two hours. Garnet with purple highlights; intoxicating perfume of candied cherry, cassis, stems, and a touch of vanilla; bracing at first this evolved with air over days into a wine we savored at 10 PM. Full bodied, almost unctuous; medium acidity with tannins that are firm and somewhat crunchy. Sensuous candied cherry layered with soft vanilla, savory elements, chocolate, cassis with flashes of game and brush, all augmented substantially with pursed lip suction which induced a layered cake of flavors issuing a long and mouth-coating finish. Truly a flirtatious, sexy wine that will fulfill in 2-3 years time.

Celebrating the end of a long and lovely visit from our daughter; served with a homemade Fettuccine Alfredo with scallops and peas; straw yellow; bubbles initially roiling in the glass (“it’s alive!”); complex expansive and even round nose featuring citrus, apple, floral smoke and latte elements which combined to offer very good presence; fine effervescence and enjoyable moderate mousse; the citrus, floral, apple and smoke were sensed on the palate along with brioche and mineral substance: silky mouthfeel and excellent body with very good length. Medium acidity which worked well with the meal. The pairing worked well-I had given up on Alfredo 20 ago but this was much lighter.

Salmon-pink; effusive floral/tropical nose of red fruit and even papaya; light-medium bodied; just enough character and bite to separate itself on the palate from the Provence prototype. Good QPR.

Not as overwhelmed as others on this one BUT it was received as a gift for book club so value is infinite (or better still undefined). Consumed two weeks ago. Turbid darker purple; nose of earth and dark berry; slightly muddled flavors of dark berry, forest floor, average length, medium balance, average intensity. Good complexity. Soft tannins and medium acid. Not usually apply scores but if I did this would be 86ish.
White
consummed two weeks ago. Recall floral aromas and flavors, silky mouthfeel, honey and and a very good QPR

Consumed over three days. Medium garnet with purple highlights. Muddled nose of bramble and raspberry. Palate was savory and reflected the nose in a unidimensional manner that evolved little with time. Third day was the the best albeit marginlly. Moderately light bodied, light acid and tannins, moderate intensity and OK complexity. Average length. I never felt this wine completely delivered on it’s promise. Will give the next bottle another six months.

A half glass left the next day. The melange of the savory green notes, the bramble, tannins and terminal bitterness caught my attention. Will see where it goes.

Tasted with my daughter and wife in recovery from medication induced dysgeusia (taste alteration). Initially opened for a pasta and meatball dinner with 45 min of decanting. I thought I couldn’t taste it properly and set my glass aside. But in reality it was just very tight (stored at 57 degrees continuously). Decided to try the wine two days later-completely different. Sipped over two more days. This wine is about it’s overall experience rather than its components. Slightly turbid and maturing garnet color and glass coating character. Rich nose of cola, root beer and oak. The cola-root beer character carried into the palate with mature red fruits and a secondary bright flavor we had trouble identifying. Medium bodied, average acidity and fine tannic structure. But it was the combination of the umami, tannins and the well integrated oak that carried the day rather than any one flavor. Deeply satisfying and glad to have been able to taste it. Decant for a longer period.

Pale pink; reticent strawberry nose; light bodied, low acidity; very pleasant, easily drinkable strawberry, vanilla and earth palate; good alone or as an aperitif.

Young, closed and served with 15 minutes of aeration. With time and temperature on the warmer side of cellar temperature, this was light, slightly rounder than crisp with a medium body. Delightful mix of stone fruit, mint and light citrus. Low acidity. It did not get the best treatment but paired welll with cheeses and charcuterie as an aperitif. Needs time.

Delightfully bright and complex, fruit tasted Californian with no sense of oak, just layers of welcome complexity. Agree that this was the best experience with this wine to date

Has improved over the last bottle. Pale yellow, nose of citrus, chalk and a touch of sweetness, but quite chilled which likely covered the nose to some degree. Crisp lemon with trailing hazelnut, minerals and a silky mouthfeel, long finish sprinkled with a micron of powdered sugar. Day one was more Chablis-like but day 2 provided the greater overall satisfaction, picking up body and depth. Fabulous Chardonnay.

Must be drinking a different wine. This bottle was amazing for an entry level Chardonnay. Medium bodied, clean yet rich citrus profile, defined minerality and good length. Can't wait to sample the vineyard level Ramey's next

Served as an aperitif with hors d' oeuvres. Color was on the tan side of rose which had me concerned at first. Upon opening and early in the first pour, the welcome aroma of yeast was effortlessly evident. This enamored me to this crisp, dry, slightly minerally effort. Agree with Merky_Waters about the watermelon fruit character but would not say that this was overtly fruity. Bubbles were medium in size. Great value rose cremant lacking only in color to fully season a romantic moment.

Picked this up discounted as ready to drink with a decant; ruby slightly turbid color; one hour decant yielded a reticent nose and a hot restrained palate. Over next couple days, the nose bloomed to cherry, cedar, mocha, spice and herbal aromas. Likely a few more that I don't fully recall. Palate improved over four days, peaking on the third day to reveal moderate tannins and weight, deep cherry, coffee, chocolates, cedar, leather, spice and herbal notes. Moderate length. The hot alcoholic element mitigated to some degree but never really disappeared. Right now the hot nature kept this wine from a score 1-2 points higher. Needs a long decant or 1-2 more years in the bottle.

Fresh, fruity but slightly lean, smooth mouthfeel, moderately long, trailing herbal elements, just different enough to justify the tariff. I will buy this every time A-R decides to vinify it.

Consumed a week ago without decanting as I thought I had picked up a bottle of Juvenile. I think Mike Dildene's more recent note captures this wine well. What remains in my taste memory was that the wine was a moderately tight, was more brooding than either Juvenile or the more expressive Old Vines, had a wonderful bramble character and finished with some bitterness. More alive and terrific with meats off the charcoal grill, each glass a little better than the one before it. One of the staff at my favorite wine shop sneered just perceptibly when I asked if they could access Turley wines. Like the guy but now that I have mailing list access, I think his mind needs a decant too.

Slightly turbid ruby. No decant. Very little on the nose and very flat unimpressive palate. Day 2, a completely different wine. Vivid nose of cherry, strawberry, earth and herbal notes. Medium body and medium + acidity with soft tannins. Palate reflects the nose with delicious red fruit, and savory earth and herbal components. Moderate + length. Delicious. Obviously this wine needs a good decant.

45 min decant. Experience essentially identical to Nostrabacchus describes except it was it was just a little rough at the edges especially compared to the more elegant 06 Uccelliera. Nothing that time will not cure which will only make it that much better. Outstanding

Served with another BdM (Canalicchio did Sopra) and a Rosso (Uccelliera) with a simple family Italian meal. All three wines were appreciated. This was the WOTN and clearly the most elegant of the three. Silky seamless mouthfeel, excellent depth of flavors with red fruit, forest floor elements and firm tannins with excellent length. 45 min decant.

Substantially better than my last bottle. After 20 minutes, a lovely melange of fruit and spice flavors savored by everyone who tasted it. A stellar wine

What a bargain! A bright, mouthful of green apple, honeydew melon and lemon, with a nutty overtone, a touch of butteriness, herbal interest and good length all with a silky mouthfeel. Not sure I could find a California Chardonnay this good and fresh for $15. These days the value seems to be coming from Maconnais and Côte Chalonnaise.
