Opens fast…this bottle needed drinking. Great juicy pop, smooth and mellowing after the first 30minutes. Really juicy and tasty…would get a few more. HNY!

Grabbed from the cellar and opened without looking. Decanted. First off plum galore. Yum. Rich ruby, plum nose, mellow and subtle. Total juice box. No alcohol
45min: much fuller, bold, juicy but not juice box…sweet nose, she says better at open. Definately feel alcohol

90min: nice and full. Good drinking

Probably best to drink now. Full bodied, hearty, hints of pepper. Can certainly taste the unique variation of the grapes in the area where Altamira is located.

One of six from the vineyard. Early to drink, can tell how bold this will be. Will wait to 2020 to taste the next one

Delicious! Drank 2 98's and not so good and pretty good. Opened this 99 and the fruit is great. Reminds me of those years where we open them up early and tasted so full. Bottles may last a while longer but think about them drinking soon if you have them. Whitehall is always great, It's a pleasure to drink them over the years.

Had two of these over a week. First one was flat, still good but no real flavor. Table wine Second one week later real fruity and tasty not as bold as they were. I say drinking now if you got them. Any 97's out there?? Great Whitehall years. Still one of my favorites with Spotswood Caymus Louis

Pretty flat on open and decant. Still tasty, just not lots of fruit. An hour or so later it's still pretty uneventful. Not bad, just not great. Maybe a bad store. Or not a great year. I have a few more and will see how they differ

This bottle had a soft cork. Stored in climate controlled cellar since 2000. Decanted. At open- smooth, almost covert. Big fruit, but not punchy. 90 minutes in - losing a bit of its umph. Warm and fruity, real mellow. Soft finish. Still delicious. Good with chocolate at this stage
