Significantly improved on night two. Night one had a bit of a green streak that took away from the wine. On night two, the green streak is gone, the earthiness is a bit mellowed with the fruit taking on more prominence. Black berries, orange peel, forest floor, green olive. Texturally this is terrific. I would just give it a long open at this point.

Opened for 2 hours before the first glass. This came screaming out of the bottle. Super bright red raspberry and blackberries with tons of acidity.

After another couple of hours this really settled down nicely. The wine settled into a really nice balance with red and black berries, orange peal, concrete, green olive.

Beatiful texture and weight. In a good place but still really needs time to open.

A well made wine with flavors of blue fruit, charcuterie, green olive, and Orange rind. Beautiful texture. Definitely settles on day 2 and is much more enjoyable. Very nice syrah.

The evolution of this wine was amazing. At open this was green olive, seaweed and blue fruit. As it settled down, the umami faded and tertiary notes of orange rind and red fruits started to emerge.

On day two this was red fruit, green olive and earth.

This started a 92-93 wine. By day two this was 97.

Opened about an hour before pouring a glass. This started pretty big and tanic before settling down over the next few hours. Once it mellowed out a bit, this is a really nice Bordeaux blend with big red fruit, anise, coffee and salinity. Really nice texture.

This is a big wine. I’d give it a good decant or hold another year or two.

Man this is good. Sour red cherries and raspberries, along with white pepper, salinity and earthiness. The texture is beautiful. Drinking really well right now.

Really nice wine in a good spot. Left open a good 3 hours prior to drinking. The texture is lite like Pinot but with a rich flavor of sour cherry, anise, roasted coffee. Drink now but give it some air. Served with tacos.

A little disjointed in n day 1 but really comes together on day 2. Dark fruit, charcuterie, black olive all come together on day 2 to make a rich well balanced wine. I would leave open for a few hours before drinking.

I really enjoyed this. Left open a couple hours prior to drinking. Then really just a well made Chianti with bright sour cherry, roasted tomato with herbs, a bit of earthiness and a fantastic texture and weight. In a good spot now but should last for a while.

This was a wow wine. Left open a couple of hours prior. This is in a great spot. Classic cab with cassis, coffee, cranberry, cherry, chalky minerality. Beautiful texture. Not too crazy, just exceptionally well done.

Amazing wine. Pop and poured. Started out pretty disjointed but given a couple of hours, was amazing. Blackened beef grissle, green olive, tar, dark plums, red berries, orange rind. The evolution on this over the evening was incredible.

Tasted side by side with the 2016 Artist Series. The Old Vines is definitely a notch higher. Really comes together at about 4 hours. This wine has the classic Horse Heaven graphite come through as does the Petit Verdo. A really nice rich Cabernet. We thoroughly enjoyed this.

Drank side by side with the 2015 Old Vines. This is a fine classic Cabernet with coffee, chocolate and dark berries. First tasted at 2 hours open and the wine was still pretty closed. Took another 2 hours to really open. At 4 hours, the fruit really pops, the tannins are tamed just a bit and this wine comes together nicely. I’d wait a year or two before opening another bottle.

I would give this a 91 on day 1 and a 94 on day 2. The wine has an earthy floral nose with raspberry and boysenberry. On the palate I get cranberry, boysenberry, a little green olive and earthiness. A bit closed on day 1, this really opens on day 2.

This has aged into a wow wine. The tannins are softened, the fruit still bright but the earthier flavors more present. Beautiful texture. This is in a really good spot but certainly has the structure and acidity to age a while.

In a nice place. Blackberries and red raspberries, orange peel, baking spice, chocolate and coffee. A big rich wine, but could use a bit more acidity. Very nice now, but probably near peak. I would drink in the next year.

This is still drinking well but I’m not sure this is has a long life ahead. Beautiful texture and weight. Charcuterie, green olive and dark fruits of plum and blackberries. A little lacking in acidity to give it that needed zip to send it to another level. Overall good wine.

Left open about 30 minutes then drank over 5 hrs. Started out all blood and iodine. As it opened up fruit emerged, largely black fruit like plums and blackberries. So much going on here and texture is amazing. Recommend about 2 hours to open before drinking.
