Almost Syrah like in nose, color and body - this is an amped up Cali PN with 15% ABV - I will say that it carries the alcohol well and doesn’t feel to hot or heavy - red fruit on the fragrant nose. A touch sweet for me. I think this is a PN for those that don’t like traditional lighter bodied, elegant PN’s

Still drinking pretty well at the moment. Not sure it will benefit from further aging so drink up as the tertiary flavors of raisin / dried plums / earth are starting to take over.

Smooth and full bodied this is a super Tuscan modern style where the Cabernet dominates with black fruits - the Sangiovese helps keep it balanced and fresh. Nice long finish - will continue to age well and improve.

I found this to be richer, heavier than you would typically expect in a barolo, however the fruit and tannin structure was certainly there suggesting this needs more age in order to balance the fruit with the structure. Solid now - should improve in 5+ years. Wait.

An enjoyable Pinot if not a little big for the varietal as this is more fruit driven than terroir driven and doesn’t necessarily have the elegance and nuances you like in PN - however that said it still was very well balanced and enjoyable.

Quite a bit of sweet oak notes on the nose and on the palate. Rich and long with a chocolate ganache finish, Maybe a tad sweet but still drinking well but would drink up.

Really nice representation of Sangiovese. Nice bright acidity and red fruits with a polished and well constructed, balanced finish. Will buy more at $30 per.

This wine was a revelation. I had fairly moderate expectations and pulled it out as I thought maybe it was past its prime, but alas it was not! Still quite vibrant with red fruits, excellent acidity but some nice aged components that lended a soft long and balanced finish. Wish I had more.

First time drinking Leoville Las Cases - I enjoyed very much but not sure it merits the hype in these reviews. Aerated and decanted for 2+ hours and drank over another 2 hours. Initially it had a nice but somewhat undistinguished nose but it improved as it opened. Great balance and a + finish but I found it took on a lot of tertiary notes over the night which while interesting suggests to me it may not age as long as suggested. will try next bottle in 12 months.

Really enjoyed this wine with Moroccan Chicken. Exotic aromas are very present on opening. Full bodied and more of a modern style Rioja. At the same time it is velvety on the palate with a long smooth finish redolent with spices, chocolate and sweet oak notes. Great QPR.

A pretty, delicate wine that is light in color and fruit but has a grippy finish. Somewhat akin to a barolo but maybe without the depth of fruit. Alot of minerality and stone on the nose. interesting and enjoyable.

A solidly constructed barolo and with a couple hour decant it was drinking well with nicely integrated tannin structure. Not highly indicative of terroir but good nonetheless.

something seemed off with the wine with a prune / raisiny smell and cloudy appearance. Hopefully a one off.

A very modern expression of Tinto de Toro with oak enveloped with a brawny core of deep dark fruits. High level of alcohol

A classic styled Rioja that is elegant but well structured with a frame of tart cranberry with iron/earth elements. Great QPR

Classic Barolo. At this point in its evolution it needs both decanting and food. ruby red with translucent rim. Nose is fairly reserved with herbal, mineral notes. Wine still present quite acidic but with fresh vibrancy and a nice medium finish. Needs another 3+ years minimum.

Still drinking quite well after 14 years. Cork was perfect condition. Wine color is ruby with clear edges and some loose fine sediment. Not particularly fragrant on the nose but the mouthfeel is smooth, balanced with cranberry, sour cherry and a nice aged element. Probably needs to be drunk in next 1-2 years.

Still drinking really well although I would drink any bottles in next year or two. Fascinating to see an Napa Syrah age and develop secondary flavors versus the big fruit bomb this wine was upon release.

Typically pale ruby color with clear rim. Very aromatic nose with cedar, tobacco and iron/herbal notes, not a lot of fruit on the nose. Well balanced although the finish comes up short for a wine of this pedigree with still present gripping tannins. Needs food. Will it improve given the lack of fruit?

Drinking great with 2 hour decant. Smooth and powerful with long finish. Will be interesting to see how it evolves as I am not sure you will get the secondary/tertiary notes of an aged wine, given the forwardness of the dominate fruit profile that exists today. Modern style.

A pleasant surprise. brownish dull red in the glass with a clear rim. Nose clearly indicates an aged wine with secondary notes of dried herbs and dried fruit. Finish is pleasant enough with the expected aged notes of balsamic. Drink up

Agree with the WS review more than the WA review. Wine is taut and linear in nature- medium bodied - nice earthiness and minerality. This is more finesse than power

Drinking well with a couple hour decant. Full bodied with deep blue/black fruits and a long finish that exudes the fruit but also is balanced with a typical Left bank minerality. certainly will age another 10+ years if not more but no need to wait,

This is a riper fuller bodied Barolo than is typical. Drinking well with a couple hour decant - not sure this necessarily has the typical austere tannin structure that top tier Barolo's do so not sure how this will evlove long term but good now

This wine needs another 3+ years IMO. Aerated and decanted for 2 hours and you still feel the grippy tannins that shorten the finish. If you are going to drink now do so with food. Nose is perfumed with dried cherry, iron notes and leather. Delicate color but has an irony backbone that should be fascinated in a few years.

With 2 hour double aeration/decant this wine was drinking beautifully. This is a big wine in terms of dense dark black fruits/plum but also has a solid structure with firm but manageable tannins. Long, long finish. Will age for a long time but drinking well with aforementioned decant

Really well made. Has iron/wet stone nose with dark berries and some alcohol heat even with long decant. Black fruit and plum dominates with long plush mouthfeel. Should improve and soften with 2+ years bottle age

Agree with the WS review. This is a powerful and muscular Vino de Montepulciano. Dense and rich but displays balance and a creaminess that makes it go well with or without food. Will improve and mellow over next 5+ years

With aeration and one hour decant this was drinking wonderfully with a long and balanced finish. Richly textured and redolent of black fruits, cassis and a touch of vanilla oak. This is a modern Margaux expression that at this stage is more fruit forward than exhibiting much in the way of tobacco or earth notes - this may develop with aging but nonetheless drinking great.

OK this wine drank much better than the previous bottle. 2 hour aeration/decant and it was singing. Cedar/Tabacco with an herbal element like thyme. Clear rim and light ruby red in glass. Wonderful balance in the mouth with a great mid palate and a long complex finish.

Drinking well with aeration and 1 hour decant - drank over several hours. A little more full bodied and richer than some of the other PDB bottlings. I would say great with food but still tannic without food - open another bottle in 18+ months
