Drinking very well. Some fairly bright fruit with well integrated oak. Light tannins on finish. Could go several more years.

This wine was singing. Great fruit, acidity and some yeast on the finish. A delicious wine with many years ahead of it.

Disgorged April 2017. Tucked this bottle away for a few years to see how it would age. It did show some oxidation and was still very enjoyable however I do prefer this wine younger.

A delicious wine with lots of lush fruit. It's what I expect from a Caymus.

Another solid wine by Bollinger. No formal notes although this bottle showed a little more oxidation that past bottles.

Not much fruit and showing it’s age. Still a solid Cabernet but should have drank earlier.

From magnum at Liv’s graduation party. Not many bubbles present but still some there. Good fruit. A very nice wine to celebrate with. Everyone enjoyed and it was gone very quickly.

Solid Napa Cab. Not as much fruit as in the past but great with a steak. Drink over next 1-2 years.

Drinking on my daughter’s 18th birthday. Pale straw color, fine bubbles. Brioche and almond on the nose. Toasty, creamy, minerality on the palate. Holding up fairly well but would drink soon.

Estate vs Aida Tasting - Currant on nose but leaning more red fruit maybe kirsch rather than dark like estate cab. Grainy berry fruit, hint of leather and dry tannin on the finish unlike the smooth understated tannins of the estate. Went very well with lamb on day 2 and seems like the Cabernet that would benefit most with some age.

Estate vs Aida Tasting - Classic Napa Cabernet. Crème de cassis and hint of vanilla on the nose and on the palate. Dark fruit and some mocha on the finish. Nicely balanced wine and tannins are pretty smooth and tame for a young cab. On day 2 it did seem to close down a bit and didn’t show as much on the nose and was a little tart on the palate but still delicious.

Cassis and blueberry on the nose. Dark fruit, cassis and vanilla on the palate with dry tannin on the finish. A very good Cabernet that is drinking really well and should be great over the next couple of years.

Initially some barnyard on the nose which blew off after a few minutes leaving some soft red fruit. Cherry, leather and slight tartness on the finish. A nice wine but nothing special right now.

Couldn't resist stealing a Coravin pour. I have never tried any of the Beau Marchais wines before but was eager to try given what I have heard. Found this winery while watching the Roar virtual block party webinar that Adam Lee participated in. Lots of cherry and hints of strawberry on the nose. Cherry, strawberry and baking spice on the palate with a touch of dried herbs on the finish. I young wine that I am sure will be even better a few years down the road.

Dark amber color in glass showing some age on the bottle (disgorged April 2014). Nose shows some oxidation and dough. I always enjoy the slightly oxidized style and it comes through on the palate along with some yeast and bread. A creamy mouthfeel with a hint of almond on the finish. The only issue I can find is a lack of acidity which would add a little freshness and balance. Otherwise another very enjoyable Champagne from Bouchard.

Blueberry on the nose with a significant whiff of alcohol. Blueberry and a hint of raspberry on the palate. A fairly hefty mouth coating wine, creamy with good length on the finish. Much better then the bottle I had last year.

Coravin pour. Cherry and raspberry on the nose. Tart cherry, hints of tobacco with vanilla on the finish.

Opened a week later and wine was showing a little sweeter cherry, strawberry on the nose with cranberry and some strawberry on the palate. A really good wine.

Dark fruit on the nose, blackberry and maybe a hint of blueberry. Medium body, blackberry and some dry tannin on the palate. A solid wine but definitely young. Needs time to soften.

This was a solid Pinot Noir that was given to me as a gift. Good earthy, red fruit with a slight vanilla creaminess. I really enjoyed this wine but at $45 a bottle there are better pinots out there.

A beautiful sweet, tart, raspberry on the nose that I could just sit and smell all night. Dark cherry on the palate that softened as it opened and began to show raspberry also. Really nice.

Cassis and blueberry on the nose with a slight alcohol burn. Dark blue fruit on the palate but the alcohol continues to get in the way of the fruit. Wine opened up and softened after 2.5 hours. Fruit shows much better although there is still something disjointed on the finish. I’m not sure if it needs more time or if it is starting to head downhill. I think I would drink sooner rather than later but decant for an hour.

Some cherry and vanilla on the nose. A softer, lighter KB. Slightly tart cherry on the palate, a little thin for my liking but a decent finish. I like this but not a great KB Pinot in my opinion.

Pear notes on the nose. Flavors are a little flat but enjoyable. Some soft apple and maybe even peach? A wine I enjoyed but better champagne for the price out there. It’s missing the yeasty flavors I really enjoy.

First night I opened this wine seemed somewhat flat and very light in style. Not much to it. The next day however the wine seemed to have opened up and was showing much more fruit and also vanilla oak. A nice pinot noir if you like this style which I do. However, it is not a great value given the price.

Only the slightest hint of bricking with a light ruby color. Sweet red licorice on the nose with a touch of cinnamon. Berries and tobacco on the palate. After decanting 3 hours the wine showed much more sweet raspberry fruit and was really singing. This has several more years ahead of it. Drink final bottle 2024-2026.

Day 2 - lost most of the fruit and oak/dry tannin dominated. Still decent but not the delicious wine I had yesterday after the 3 hour decant

Blackberry with some meat and herbs on the nose. Blackberry on the palate with cedar notes lingering on the finish. A nicely balanced wine. Some dry tannins on the finish.

Day two wine was slightly better having opened a bit more. Blackberry and dark fruit was more prominent and tannins had softened. A very nice wine.

Cherry vanilla on the nose. Decent fruit upfront with lots of bitter cherry on the finish. I wasn’t sure if the bitterness was too much at first but when I kept sipping away at it I realized I must like it. Not a wine I would specifically seek out but good.
