Decanted for 2 hours in our cellar and we could smell the wine as we entered the cellar! Nose is strong with aromas of leather, damp earth, blackberry or maybe black cherry, toasted oak and a hint of licorice. The palate follows the nose with full body and flavors of cooked dark berries, black currant and maybe some truffle. There is a hint of toasted oak on the palate as well.

We decanted it for 2 hours before our first glass. Tannins remained heavy at this point but the wine presented with subtle cherry and blackberry flavors and a heavy note of cassis. The acidity was well balanced though. We left it sit for another hour and the wine came into its own - the bouquet rounded out, the fruit became more pronounced, and the tannins relaxed.

We think something was wrong with this bottle. Tasted sour. We let it decant for several hours checking in on it regularly and it did not improve. Will reserve rating until we try a second bottle.

Young but very approachable. Great balance of fruit and tannins. Plenty of structure which should allow it to only get better with age.

Had this vintage in 2011 and it was too young. Being in the bottle for another year or so has really made a difference. Nice a smooth now.

We really liked the 2010 that we drank on New Year's Eve, however we felt the 2011 was a bit too sweet. Perhaps it just needs a little more time in the bottle.
