After over nine years, I finally drank the last bottle of this wine served at my wedding at Paul Maroon's estate on Aug 25, 2012. This wine punches way way above its weight and was special to enjoy with my wife on the eve of a major birthday. In the space of time since my wedding there, Paul passed away but his hospitality and beautiful grounds family/friends will be remembered forever. I didn't expect this wine to drink so well but huge tribute to Paul and his team! Best, Mark

This was simply amazing. Guests loved it so much at Easter Dinner that I had to return to cellar to crack multiple bottles. Would buy again every year.

This was delicious and much better than expected at this stage of life with tri-tip smoked steak on the Egg with pecan wood. Very smooth and meshed well with the flavors in the coffee-based rub on the meat.

The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are fast. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like dust, red currant, mushroom and barnyard. It tastes like red currant, cherry, dust, lead pencil and tobacco. The body is medium/full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity.

Amazing wine with layers of flavors throughout. The wine looks light gold colored. The legs are slow and there is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like lemon, apricot, melon, stoniness, honeysuckle and pistachio. It tastes like lemon, oak and honey. The body is medium/full. The wine has polished texture with a long finish and medium acidity.

Super enjoyable and different. Third bottle and all have been equally good.
The wine looks light gold colored. The legs are slow. It smells like butterscotch, hazelnut and lemon. It tastes like lemon and butterscotch with medium/full body. The wine has silky texture and relatively low acidity.

Not a style I will buy again but can understand the polarization. Grew up viewing this as top tier until I learned what I was doing. Disappointing for the price and vintage but now recognize at not my style, and does seem to be improving after several hours despite the thinness. Two years ago I had a regular Caymus and couldn't finishing drinking it--this one was at least somewhat enjoyable given quality fruit.

Last of four bottles--this is orders of magnitude better than the last of these that I had a couple of years ago. Much smoother now without the sharp initial bite. Drinking well right out of the bottle.
