Excellent, classic Aussie Shiraz with that heavy oak giving it a deep vanilla flavor. Drink now to 2025.

After giving it some air, it was a bit sweet for my liking. It also lacked a lot of depth, however what it did have was a softness and roundness that was enjoyable.

Even sweeter than I was expecting, but very nice notes of citrus.

Effervescent, olives, blackberries. Score will increase if the Raptors win this game...

Well rounded, probably at the end of its peak. No need to decant much if at all.

Really lacking overall, probably over the hill but I’m not sure it ever was the life of the party.

This had a lot of heat and acidity initially. After a few hours of decanting, that all blew off and what was left was an amazing pinot, approachable and balanced. Wait a few years before this will begin to peak.

Outstanding. It had a rough edge straight from the bottle, but that blew off after an hour. Smooth, well integrated, “scrummy” as Mary Berry would say.

Excellent, drinking very well. As we also had a Chateau Montrose from 1959, it really made me realize how the notion of "you can hold this bottle for 10 more years" is a bit of a misdirection. Sure, you COULD hold this bottle for longer, but if it's drinking well, are the incremental gains of holding off really worth it? I would say, in general, no. Drink up, friends.

As wine drinkers, quantifying a wine into a rating includes so much more than the wine itself. Where were you? Who were you with? Sometimes it's a meal at a restaurant, sometimes it's sitting on a couch in sweatpants watching TV. The trick is to sterilize the environment and focus on only the wine, however that is much easier said that done as wine drinking itself is an experience and affects the environment as much as the environment affects the wine.

This wine was enjoyed on the couch in sweatpants watching Netflix while my three small children slept quietly. It had an inviting nose of black fruit, which the subsequent tasting reinforced. A good amount of heat initially that dissipated with each sip that lead into a nicely balanced, long lasting finish.

I thoroughly enjoyed every sip of this wine. It has 5 good years left in it, so drink or hold.

Wiscgrad is right, about the wine not about graduating from Wisconsin. This thing has little going for it except "it'll getcha drunk!". Very few notes of flavor, heavy on the alcohol, very little mouthfeel. Drinks like boozy water mixed with Welch's grape juice. That said, I did finish the bottle over 3 nights, so there's that.

Oak and vanilla dominate. Unruly, just the way I like it. Could easily last a couple decades longer.

This just never came together for me. Coravin first glass, next night PnP since i didn't find it worthy of any more argon gas, then vacuvin, and finally the next night went back to it for a third time giving it some air. I didn't find it enjoyable in any form. Tight in the glas, hot, unapproachable, bitter notes were overwhelming. I will say it was better with some air, so maybe a long decant would do it justice. Perhaps I wasn't patient enough.

It's main note for me was acidity. A little bit of pepper on the nose, as others have noted, but that's about it. Not terrible, but very lacking.

Last of 3 bottles, very nice but this bottle was not breaking any world records for flavor. Perhaps it closed up temporarily.

From others tasting notes, obviously some bottle variation. Mine was decent, a little lacking but the flavor profile that was there played nicely on the palate. A small town orchestra, perhaps missing the flute and tuba sections.

As much structure as a pile of marbles. Light berry nose, nothing on the front or mid palate, a little note of dark fruit on the back end. Medium tannins. Drinks like water, you decide if thats good or bad for you.

Still young obviously, but didnt open up much as it sat. Decent front/mid palate, blah finish. Not tannic at all. Give it some time, maybe that will help...

i actually thought this wine was better than previous reviews made it out to be. it was lacking in depth, but the flavor that was there hung on the mid palate for some time. a little funk, a little barnyard, very smooth as it should be for a 10 year old burg. drink now or forever hold your peace.

Coravin - Very appealing, though it seemed to lack some depth. Ready to drink now, and I'm not convinced that aging it any longer will necessarily add to its complexity. All in all, a solid cab.

Pop and pour, very harsh off the first sip. Let it sit an hour, astringency remained. Used a VacuVin, came back to it two days later, and the astringency had mostly blown off.

Tasty enough, but I didn't quite get the same experience as others had with this wine.

I took JUNGLEJUICE's advice and gave this wine some time to open up. I took a taste right after opening, and it was a bit tight. I did not get the "fizz" that others are talking about. After 3 hours of decanting, it had settled down. A bit fruity, smooth, nice finish, no heat.

I feel that if you are buying wine of this caliber, a level of respect needs be paid to such a young bottle.
