Such a great and pleasurable wine. Had about an hour decant and the enjoyed. Cherry, leather, a little truffle and a lot of smiles. Will certainly try to find a little more out there. Talbot is such a long living wine that is very dependable.

Going to be a great wine…but needs more time. Still tart and astringent but does have some layers that are going to reveal themselves in time. I would not open another bottle for at least 10 years, but it will be worth the wait. Buy now and enjoy later! Tobacco, cedar, etc will be waiting for you!

In a really good spot right now. Citrus flavors went well with the morels and fettuccine pasta with lemon and artichoke. Color could be a tad darker…still pale yellow and borderline darkening. Opened up so nicely over two hours.

Tight as a tick…need more time in bottle. Very strong and abrasive. I think it needs another 10 years to shed some of the aggressive nature it has…but I could be wrong.

Very solid wine. Decanted for two hours and then consumed over another hour or so. Very silky tannins and gobs of dark red fruit. Not the greatest LMHB I have had but certainly a solid wine.

Very nice champagne that is starting to open up after sept 2016 DG. Med high acidity with green apple, pear, and some caramel. Lovely champagne.

What a great wine! Drank in a blind tasting with ‘90 Lafite and Latour and the PB was as great as those two first growths. Tobacco & Cedar were very prevalent but still has wonderful dark red fruit. In a great spot now. I think I prefer it to the ‘89 at this point in time. Opened two hours before serving and a quick 30 minute decant before serving.

Outstanding wine that is drinking well now, but will improve with more time. Wish I had another bottle.

Good wine but not the WOTY. It was thin and a little lean. Decanted for an hour and it was still a bit tart.

Usually love this wine and the winemaker. This bottle seemed to be off and have what I suspect was a little heat damage. Cork broke. Some bricking on edge. Bitter taste. Not like it usually is.

Great wine. Such a treat on Easter Sunday. Took about an hour decant to reveal itself. Great fruit still...bright red fruit. Not as much depth as you would like but still a great treat.

Good wine. Not great but I think that is because it needs more time. Very rich and citrus driven. Starting to get gold in color. Creamy. Still has some acid in the back end. I’d wait on more.

Hard tannins and some acidity. Was expecting this to be a more pleasant experience. I think with much more time it could be but I wouldn’t open another for quite some time.

Good. Rich and fatty. Probably would do well with another year or two of age and go with some seafood.

Not best Mouton I have had. It was very funky from the pull of the cork...and not good funky. It blew off over the course of a few hours and did improve in decanter. Fully resolved and decent, but not worth the money.

Fully resolved but still has some fruit. Great wine with all the characteristics of a Pauillac wine. Decanted for an hour and it improved with air. Wine of the night vs ‘88 Mouton.

Some sour cherry and super bricky for being a 2005. Very tart but did blow off after an hour decant or so. Really surprised at how advanced it was for a 2005.

Starting to show some signs of oxidation and wasn’t close to the average. Some did blow off but it was certainly not what you would want.

Wine was a 95 upon opening and initial decant. Loads of cherry, tobacco and cedar on this bottle. Was disappointed towards the second hour it was open as it went backwards and became very astringent and tannic. I think maybe a few more years on this or drink a little quicker. Happy New Year to all of CellarTracker wine friends!

This bottle was probably more PNP than a decant. After I opened it has a wonderful nose with some leather, tobacco, and Asian Spice. Decanted for sediment and let sit for about 45 minutes. Sour cherry really started to show and grow. Sadly towards the end it got really sour. Make sure you don’t let it get too much air. Will certainly try again to see if the next has a similar experience.

Great wine but really needs time!!! This is the second bottle I have had in the last year and both have opened beautifully but both go backwards and tighten up. My suggestion is to wait another five years on this one and open a ‘98 instead.

This wine was suspect for the first hour in decanter. It was tart...a tad bitter and a little sour cherry. At 1.5 hour in the decanter...wow...took off and totally changed. I was ready to get rid of my other bottles...not now. Give this a good decant!
