Needs a lot more time before you should even think about popping a bottle. Evolved over 4 days of drinking (vin-vac between each day), each day with more complexity, never going bad.

This is getting better. More red fruits this time than earlier tastings. Astringency is starting to mellow/integrate into the wine as a positive. Still a very soft and delicate pinot noir with just the right amount of complexity.

Great bottle. This is a white wine for red wine lovers. Much heavier on the mid palate when compared to your typical sauv blanc. Great flavors of green apple, pineapple, and some mango. Ends nicely for a long and fresh finish. Pairs well with granny smith apples dipped in honey and some fresh brie cheese.

Shows great depth, concentration, and and memorably long finish. Well done!

Great with a good steak. Even with a 3 hour decant, still quite tannic and will benefit from more time in the cellar.

Nice cab with a lot of fruit and freshness given the age and vintage. Drinking very well right now.

Lovely. Popped the cork and ran through the Venturi. Nose reeks of class and sophistication. Was VERY tightly wound. Huge polished tannins but with lots of red and black fruits and fresh acidity. Decided to wait on the rest of the bottle until day 2. The journey this bottle took from day 1 to day 2 was amazing. Tannins smoothed out and led way for a wonderfully enjoyable wine with structure, big red fruits, and a long finish.

Drank a bottle of this at Filomena Ristorante in Georgetown, Washington DC. 100% Merlot, this was excellent with the full-flavor and tomato based dishes we had. Voluptuous nose, dark violet color, with dense, viscous, multi-layered flavors and a medium-long finish. Well integrated tannins and is drinking very well right now. Do yourself a favor and give this wonderful Super-Tuscan a try.

Definitely needs a few hours in the decanter so that some of the fruit comes through. This is a good wine if mended to appropriately. May get a bit better with age as tannins integrate further. Still, at this point, a solid decant is mandatory.

Only bottle I could fit in my suitcase back from France.... Best to drink now with some mild-medium cheese.

Impressive. I'm a Rutherford AVA Napa Cab lover, and for me, this little bottle puts Lodi on the map.

Picked up from the winery in July. Very mellow for a zin; expected more from Caymus on this one. Still enjoyed and drinking well now.

Was rather stringent and closed on the first day but softened up quite nicely by day 2.

Lots of juicy red fruits, oak, and that classic tempranillo finish. An hour or so spent in the decanter would serve as a utility maximizer!

Not much of anything on the nose except some leather, graphite, and grape. A lot of initial alcohol. To the taste, still very closed - overwhelmed by tannin. Not much fruit. was better after opening up for an hour or so. Some dark fruits and chocolate started to show through. No sign of the funk/prune/raisin that was present a year ago. At this point, not sure if this is due to age or bottle variation. Will probably wait at least another year to try another one of these.

Give this one a few hours to open up and the payoff will be worth the wait. Agree with other comments about the wine being over-extracted, but still has a good backbone. I would imagine that it will benefit from a few more years in the cellar.

Drank this with Argentinian-style skirt steak and onions. The wine is very dry and complimented the dish well. It was a little light on fruit and depth due to the overwhelming dryness but I did notice (to my surprise) that there was some fruit coming through after the wine had time to open up. Based on my experience, I would say that this wine would be a wonderful pair to a good steak, but would not be a wine I would enjoy by itself. Given its tannic nature, I would imagine this wine could evolve over time. Well made. 91-92

Was hoping that there would be more to this one. Maybe in a few years? Has the guts to stick around awhile, but not sure how far it will go.

Drank with friends and was by far the favorite of the night - all were impressed. Deep and rich with mouth-coatingly silky tannins reminiscent of valley fruit. Highly recommend.

Crisp and refreshing - plenty of acidity. Nose of oak and toast and flavors of grilled pineapple and tart green apple. Should last a good while in the cellar.

Great QPR at $23.50. Nose of sweet red raspberries, oak, and vanilla. Somewhat of a fruit-bomb cab, but still wonderful. I enjoyed this very much.

Very old world. Lots of raisin and pipe tobacco on the nose. May be going through a bit of an odd stage. Overwhelmed by dark fruit and chocolate with little room for crispness. Going to wait on the rest of these. The guts say it has potential, but only time will tell...

Very berry - red fruits - especially strawberry. Nice wine, but nothing special. Good weekday bottle to go along with some dark chocolate.

The wine looks inky colored. Tightly wound and somewhat hot and would benefit from additional time in the bottle. On the nose, offers wonderful notes of dark berries, cassis, oak, and somewhat of a funk/straw smell upon uncorking. Med/Long finish with wonderful dark fruits and cassis throughout. Looking forward to enjoying the rest of my stash of this wine over the coming years!

Not overly aromatic, but smooth and well balanced on the palate. May offer some additional rounding with an additional 2 to 3 years in the bottle.
