Matured Bordeaux with good condition, very aromatic, dark fruits dominate but a bit bitter making it not too balanced. Suggest to drink now.

2/9/22, 7:09 PM - Thanks for your comment WineGuyDelMar. I bought this wine in 2013 and kept in my cellar for 9 years so may be I have too high expectation on this.

Nevertheless, Giscours 2005 is a good wine and I agree with you that we can wait to see if there is any interesting thing to develop.

A bit disappointed - decanted for 4 hrs, still alcoholic but the fruits are weak, not that balanced and finish is not long enough. Is it too young?

8/3/21, 6:09 PM - Thanks for your comment. I also suspect it may be a bottle variation. Wait for your update.

Used Coravin once for this wine in 2018. Revisit again yesterday and the wine was nearly dead..

Don't use Coravin unless you can finish drinking it within 2 weeks or you don't mind your collection bearing the risk of total loss..

My third time this year Coravin ruined my wine..
  • JChan commented:

12/23/19, 8:59 PM - I used my Coravin happily since purchase few years ago and nothing negative come out.

But this year 2019, I found Coravin did have a negative impact to my wine no matter it was a 2000 wine or 2009 wine. I once suspect that the needle is polluted but I have no evidence to prove it.

Now, I will strictly follow the "Rules" to use Coravin when I foresee I will drink up within 2 weeks and not apply it on fine wine...

You will not be disappointed.

Drank on my daughter 100 days.

This PC 2008 is juicy with ripe plum, cherry and other red fruits intermixed together, with a hint of coffee like flavour. Smooth and very balanced. WOTN.

12/19/19, 10:18 PM - For me, 2008 is a very good year for Bordeaux - While most attentions are drawn to 2009 and 2010, the price of 2008 is relatively low and is a bit closed to 2007, but the quality is much much better.

PC is a reliable claret at top quality but you can still get it at a reasonable price given its production volume. It even offers much more than other Bordeaux wine at the similar price level.

12/9/19, 8:08 PM - Hi ArtF, everytime I purchased Coravin original cartridge from reliable store.

I enjoyed using Coravin before but now I will be very cautious and will do more testing on its impact to wine quality.

Coravin ruined my wine again..

Will never use this my favorite collection..

12/9/19, 8:04 PM - Thanks for your comment Christopher.

The concept of Coravin is good and my previous experience is good too. But recently I find that several wine used with Coravin deteriorate quickly.

I will take your comment and now I am very cautious when considering using this.

Used Coravin for drinking before. My experience is that Coravin will make the wine become more mature, if not making the wine deteriorated...

This time when I open this Lynch Bages, it is really very sweet, very surprisingly sweet. The cork is nearly fully absorbed with wine, not sure is it due to the use of Coravin several times before.

Sweet ripe red and dark fruits, medium to full bodied. Hint of coffee and oaky flavor, making this very attractive one. Very juicy and drinking very well with food.
  • JChan commented:

9/12/18, 9:42 PM - For Coravin, I have another experience that the wine poured through Coravin tastes very bad - acidic and not balance (several times), but the wine of the same bottle poured through opening the cork tastes quite well.

The wine is Alter Ego Palmer 2008. I'm not sure what is going on with Coravin.

Good nose with red fruits and coffee. Berries on the palate with hints of coffee, cigar box. Medium to full bodied. But a bit acidic after around 2 hours. Is it still too young?

5/13/17, 11:45 PM - Thanks MvL, I still got 2 bt, will try one in nearly future to determine. Thanks! But definitely Chasse Spleen 2000 is a bit better.

A little bit disappointed given its rating in ct. Smooth and full bodied. But not ripe enough making this relatively less attractive. But still it is a good wine and let see if it will develop further with time. First bottle of the case bought.

1/23/16, 4:27 PM - Thanks for your recommendation. I just cant help myself not to open a bt given such good comments in CT and good vintage like this. I will take your comment and only open it again, probably years later. :)

With high expectation on this vintage, but end up we're quite disappointed on it. The nose is so closed even after half an hour of breathing. So tight and the fruit seems diminished. A little bit acidic and make it quite unbalanced. We finished within 2 hours after opening and the wine become a little bit better but not a dramatic improvement. Maybe it suggest the wine should have more breathing time.

9/17/14, 3:33 AM - Thanks for your comments Harley. hope I will have a chance to taste it some years later to see the difference.
