Lemony and tightly-coiled. Does not show the heat of the vintage. Impressive but needs time.

Honeysuckle, almond, pear, stones. Wide on the palate, but carries itself with elegance. Very fine.

Meyer lemon, lemon zest, slate, sweet vanilla and, with air, an increasing amount of anise on the nose. Full on the palate with more lemon, fennel, floral notes and tarragon. Massive poise and power. High acidity. Finishes a bit hot. Although I don't suspect this saw more than 30% new oak, there was a somewhat distracting level of wood influence.

At first, this came off as pure NSG to me with a leathery nose, a good amount of new oak, subtle Pinot fruits and soft tannins. Over the next few hours, the wine evolved into a more new-world style with cherry flavors and a hint of cola moving to the fore. Short finish. A complex wine that offered plenty of pleasure.

Deep golden color. Aromas of baked and fresh apple, tarragon and wood give way to supple, well-integrated flavors with vibrant acidity and melt away into a very long, elegant finish.
