After a few hours the oxidation blew off allowing for a nice fragrant nose with a mixture of leather and earth. Great structure with the tannins giving way to mineral and some subtle fruit. CDPs continue to not disappoint.

A rich, full bodied wine with some interesting depths of flavors like blackberry, licorice, super dark chocolate, and some minerals (more graphite than iron).

A solid wine from one of my favorite producers. A big wine that benefited from decanting. Tasted against an Oakville powerhouse and was a clear winner. The wine was smooth and refined despite the initial rush of tannins. Good currant and berry flavors with a hint of minerality. The time in the bottle and in the decanter produced a very fine wine as expected from Paul Hobbs.

Elegant texture almost creamy. Great honey and refined citrus flavor notes. Was excellent now but would benefit from another 5-10 years of age.

Simply amazing. Beautiful texture and the flavor left me speechless.

Tons of rich raisin with hints of caramel and roasted fig. If you run across this wine buy it immediately then enjoy it with patte or other rich and salty foods.

Very nice napa wine good value for Beckstoffer fruit, and I am a big fan. A little chewy, but great structure and flavor. Full flavor with a slightly tart finish but as my wife says, "it is very flavorful, I like it."

Spice, hints of date. The 15% alcohol is not hidden at all. Good flavor but is a bit tight right out of the bottle. Wine developed nicely over a few hours.

Nice fruit -- plums and currant -- pair well restrained tannins allowing for a great wine. A bit more sweetness than a napa cab but not too overpowering.

Fr the first pour the wine was well balanced. No spike in tannins like I was expecting. Soft berries up front with a slightly tart finish.

Another fantastic example of Beckstoffer fruit.

Without the aerator lots of berry and currant juice. Light tannins on the finish. With the aerator more spice -- hints of anise I think.

Overall very nice. Wish I would have purchased more from the vineyard.

Strong tannins with hints of raspberries. Sediment makes the need for a decanter or an aerator with a screen key. Not a much fruit as an Australian Syrah.

Nice wine. Goes well with salt or sweet.
