Excellent, weighty Beaujolais. Buy it if you find it.

The wine has medium acidity. It smells like medium toast, blueberry, black currant (cassis) and raspberry. The body is medium. The wine finishes medium. It tastes like blackberry, tobacco, medium toast, blueberry, black currant (cassis) and clove. The wine looks ruby colored.

Shockingly still drinkable, for about 20 minutes. Then it oxidizes and loses the remaining floral character (rose petals, a little dried cherry).

Good, and recognizable as Sangiovese if you already know what it is, but very Washington State at the same time. Big, a little plush, more body but less acid than an Italian Sangiovese. Good, though!

Fantastic. These natural wine guys... Every once in a while they're right.
Rosé
Excellent rose. A great balance of crisp acidity and fruit. Buy again.

Is it worth more than $6.99? Yeah. Is it worth more than $12.99? ...Maybe? A decent-but-not-great CdR.

A tad funky to start but stick with it for 45 minutes or so and it's delightfully fruity and easygoing, but not in an industrial way.

On opening, pleasant, if muted, bouquet. Violets and rose on the palate at first, then overwhelmingly concentrated tannins. After an hour or so of decanting it balances out a bit, though the floral character subsides. A solid, enjoyable wine that is a credit to the underappreciated Castillon area.

I'm not sure what happened with the other reviewers, but this is... not bad! It's interesting: 2009, so should be mature, and it's throwing sediment (watch out for that) but the tannins are still palpable as if it still has a ways to go. If you told me this was a Bordeaux Superieur, I'd believe you. Strangely, no bouquet to speak of (at least, not an hour after opening), but it has a pleasant old-world quality on the palate with just a teensy bit of something foreign that I like to think is the local varieties

Outlandishly boring. Not even bad: It makes no impression whatsoever. The watery pinot grigio of chardonnays; an embarrassment to Burgundy. Purchased at Total Wine with money and time I can never get back.

2005 Château Lanessan Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Not that much fruit. Lots of mushroom on the nose, still some unresolved tannins, but fine for a late-release 2005 at $25.

Tasted distinctly like Sonoma Cabernet, considerably better than expected. Cocoa, baking spice, dark rich fruit but without the candied element of much mass-market Cab about this price.

Bought this more than four years ago, and have been saving it. Decided to drink it in a Wednesday night after a long day at work. Good choice. It's delicious, and the aroma enchants; it reminds me why I love wine so much.

Inoffensive but deeply disappointing. Minimal aroma, flat on the palate, short finish. I'm frustrated because Morellino di Scansano is an underrated wine and plonk like this will give it a bad name before it has a chance in the U.S.
Red
Much sweeter than I remembered.

On the downward slope. Drink now, if ever.

I forgot how ridiculous this wine is. Just delicious; I think it was the first thing to turn me onto Grenache. The fruit in this vintage is slightly less... red than I remember, but there's an added note of menthol and herb that makes it interesting in a new way. Crazy good. Buy it.

Outstanding. Almost certainly one of the ten best white wines I've had. Crisp, mineral, lemony, long finish, enticing, great.

Enormous wine, hugely tannic. Softened a little after 2+ hours of decanting. Do not drink without food. Very alcoholic as well. Another year or two wouldn't hurt, but this is gonna be big whenever.

This was the cabernet that made me love cabernet. It's still great (although perhaps not the world-changer it was two years ago). The extra age makes it more mature and, well, aged (bricking, some old Bordeaux flavors) than it was, but still pretty rich and very satisfying. Drink now.
