Red
Brown/garnet meniscus. Consistent with the other notes here that describe this as prunes and raisins. Closer to a 20 year tawny port than a dry table wine at this stage. Ultra ripe with a touch of VA to boot. Didn't finish the bottle.

Stood up for 5-6 hours as I was afraid of a decant which was the right call. A bit of funk blew off and revealed a intense nose of mushroom, leather, and nutmeg. Still full of red fruit, smoky meat, and tanning oil. After 2 hours it started to fall off so I would not recommend opening early or decanting. Wonderful wine, drink up.

High - acidity, stone fruit, apricot, lemon peel. Rich mouthfeel. Intense aroma and flavor. Will stand up well to firm white fish or salmon. Med body. Very nice, lush wine.

Opened and let it come up to temp, no decant. Storage must have been ideal as it didn't really show its age. Smoked brisket and garrigue, not a ton of fruit, plum and currant. Some tannin left giving it structure, 30 second finish. Mature, can't say if it's declining as this is my first bottle. Nice wine. 91 pts.

Decanted for 4 hours. Drank with grilled Pork Tenderloin. Full bodied but not jammy. Nice nose of blueberry pie & spice. The alcohol and oak were well integrated, not over the top. Balanced wine and very easy drinking. If you love Zin this is a nice example of a full throttle but not overdone wine. My only issue is the price, just not a good QPR so wouldn't buy again.

Opened and poured into glass to sit for 45 minutes. Deep Red/Violet color. No signs of bricking, in fact this seemed young. Medium bodied, tannins have integrated but still primary Cabernet flavors. I would have guessed this was 80% Cabernet or more. Sweet pure focused fruit. Medium finish. While this is settled down and very drinkable I'm going to wait another 5 years to open the next one.

Nose of pencil lead. Blackberry and dark cherry on the pallet. Hints of Vanilla and oak. Ultra concentrated and full bodied, well integrated and balanced. Inky black. Still a touch young but drinking well.

Nose of coffee and blueberry pie. Black in color, full bodied. Notes of dark chocolate and jam. Laser beam of black and blue fruit, very concentrated. Gobs of oak. Alcohol is high and strong on the finish. Still a massive wine, not balanced. Needs even more time, if it will ever come together.

Shows well right from opening. Nose of dusty cherries, bright red color. Medium weight, bright red fruit with a touch of earth. Oak is nicely integrated and pleasant tannins. Modern style but definitely Chianti. Enough acidity to enjoy with food. Very nice wine.

Double decanted and brought to dinner at Terragusto. Reserved nose, maybe a bit of iodine. Very deep purple color. Medium weight, not jammy. Good structure here, precise. Most well made Aglianico wine I've had to date but this didn't wow me. Needs more time, well worth the $35 I paid though.

Have a couple bottles of this left over from last summer. Not sure why I was dreading opening another, was pleasant enough. Nose of red fruit, cherry palate. Light to medium body, simple and one dimensional but not tart or funky. Decent. I've had much worse at $8

Opened and poured into glasses, let sit for an hour. Wine is very dark, looked like Guiness in the glass. Nose is primarily Sangiovese notes, somewhat muted. Oak is present but not dominating, firm but not over the top tannins. Sangio flavor profile with the cab and merlot rounding the edges. Not jammy like the color might suggest. Med. body, short finish. Opened up more, needs 2+ hour decant.

Decanted for 2 hours, just a touch of sediment left in the bottle. Very dark, almost black. Big nose of pencil lead with a touch of strawberry. Full bodied, bordering on jammy, well structured. A bit simple on the palate, primary red fruit and cassis. Med. finish. Drinking well now but should evolve more.

Decanted for 1 hour. Nose was muted but I could pick out plum and blackcherry. Concentrated but not jammy mouthfeel, smooth tannins and very little oak. Balanced but holding back, could have passed as a Brunello. Not typical Chianti but a wonderful wine that will benefit from cellaring. I will buy again and hold for 2-3 years.

Opened and the nose was fantastic right away. That was the best part unfortuneatly, this was very tannic and tiring to drink. Very dark and full bodied. On day two the tannins barely faded but the fruit did. Not sure if this just needs more age or if it's too unbalanced to ever be good.

Popped and poured. Earthy nose, mineral, stone. Palate of mushroom and some black cherry. Didn't seem tight, not alot of fruit. Smooth tannins and 20-30 second finish. Well balanced.

Decanted for 2 hours but still closed at first glass, chewy tannins. Black fruit and leather hiding, very tightly wound. Started to open by the last glass but still holding back. You can drink it now but why? Wait 1-3 years.

Opened and poured into decanter. First half hour the wine was unapproachable, fierce tannins. After an hour it was drinkable but still very tannic. Nice fruit on the nose but it didn't make it through to palate. Wine seemed new world, reminded me of several Chilean wines I've had recently. Wouldn't try this again for years.
