Decanted for 30 minutes. Aromas of cherry, strawberry, raspberry, sassafras and beet. Flavors of cherry, strawberry, cranberry, earth and currant. Ends with a 30-35 second finish with cherry and strawberry notes. Stored at 55 degrees since purchased directly from the winery. Fruit was still very much present and only showing a slight hint of drying. Kosta Browne started moving more towards Williams Selyem style during this time, which is still great wines but not what they were 2004-2005.

Decanted for over 2 hours. Aromas potpourri, raspberry, cherry, melted chocolate and licorice. Flavors of licorice, raspberry, cherry, rhubarb and hint of mesquite. Ends with a 35 second finish with raspberry and licorice. This is consistently a great wine for the money.

Aromas of papaya, mango, banana, nutmeg and lemon meringue. Flavors of lemon meringue, papaya, mango, pineapple and touch of mineral. Ends with a 40-45 second finish with tropical fruit notes. This is quite nice still and no where near falling apart.

Decanted for over a day. Aromas of milk chocolate, candied cherry, raisin, date and touch of heat. Flavors of candied cherry, date, raisin, mocha and bit of brandy. Ends with a 30-35 second finish with date and chocolate notes. Very young still but drinking quite well.

Decanted for 2.5 hours. Aromas of dark chocolate, currant, blackberry, black cherry and lead pencil. Flavors of cherry, blackberry, currant, mocha and fruitcake. Has a good amount of tannin on it. Ends with a long finish of 40-45 seconds with blackberry and black cherry notes. Agree with the Schrader comments. Quite amazing as it is half the price. I need to seek out more of these and also try the Cab Franc.

Popped, ran through a Vinturi and drank. Aromas of cherry, strawberry, mushroom, forest floor and cinnamon. Flavors of cherry, strawberry, mushroom, earth and something I will describe as burnt marshmallow, which may sound bad but it's not. Ends with a nice finish of 30-35 seconds with dried cherry and earth notes. Better than the 07 I had a while ago that didn't seem to hold up so well but this is still very much alive and enjoyable.

Decanted for 3 hours. Had a soapy smelling glass to start but got a different one. Aromas of blackberry, currant, sweet cherry and bit of earth. Not a bad nose but certainly not jumping out of the glass. Flavors of blackberry, currant, dusty berry, iron, melted chocolate and hint of earth. Ends with a long finish of 45+ seconds with mocha and black currant notes. Not hot at all even though 15.5 %. Only thing missing was the somewhat shy nose.

Writing this note on day 2. More open for business today for sure and hard edges smoothed out. Aromas of raspberry Grenache, roasted herbs, iron and lavender. Flavors of raspberry, kirsch liquor, blackberry, iron and cherry. Ends with a 30+ second finish with raspberry and chocolate notes.

Pop and pour out of a coravin's bottle. Aromas of cherry, strawberry, mushroom, currant and forest floor. Flavors of raspberry, cherry, mushroom, strawberry and earth. Ends with a juicy finish of 20-25 seconds with earth and cherry notes. Totes the line well between California and Burgundy. Just a little behind on the last bottle I had.

Decanted an hour and 20 minutes. Aromas of iron, burning embers, blackberry, black cherry and currant. Flavors of iron, black currant, blackberry, coffee and earth. Ends with a 2-25 second finish with blackberry and iron notes. Stark contrast from the 2010 I had 4 years ago. This has verve and complexity.

Decanted for 1 hour. Aromas of dusty berry, iron, mocha, blackberry and black cherry. Flavors of black cherry, iron, blackberry, currant and soy sauce. Ends with a 25-30 second finish with mocha and black cherry notes. Not a bad wine but thinking this might have VA. The soy sauce note just doesn't seem right and this is not in line with other To Kalon cabs I have had over the years. Will revisit this in a hour or two and leave it scoreless for now.

Update: this got better after an hour. Much more balanced and integrated.

Ends with a long finish of 55-60 seconds with blackberry and chocolate notes. This hasn’t moved at all in 7 years and still drinking fantastic. Showing no signs of age.
