Solid champagne and always at the top of my tete de cuvees. Could really feel the Pinot on this wine. Not sure of the blend but rich and unctuous. I always love it but competition was stiff tonight. Highest recommendation.

Great color and a buttery popcorn nose initially. Odd for a salon. But it is 17 years old. Delicious. Would drink any time but it cane in last tonight amongst 3 great bottles. It will live to fight another day. Highly recommended.

At this age 96 basically equals 100. Deep Golden straw color. Rich aromas of honeysuckle and toffee. Palate of a toffee, Carmel green apple. Slight oxidative taste but it was delicious. Acidity abounding. This will go on for years and I hope to taste it again someday. Highest recommendation.

Drank at dinner with McKenna. Cafe Napoli in STL. Nice initial aromas of dark cherry and slate. A minerally palate with brambly characteristics. It was a an overall pleasing wine with good medium bodied texture but finish was brief and it was in kind of a no mans land of fruit versus minerality versus tertiary aromas. Good but not great. Recommended

Very good. Deeper golden color. Rich texture. Aromas of Buttered rum candy and sourdough toast. Long finish. Fruit profile leans toward ripe apple and pear. Delicious overall. Highly recommend.

Drank back to back vs 163. Golden straw color. Again very rich and flavorful. More stone fruit like apricot to me with less nuttiness and baked bread. But it wasn’t as fresh as the 163 either. Splitting hairs but this wine is just shy of the 163 overall but still highly recommend.

I think 163 is best of recent releases. Rich flavors, fresh acidity and balance. Very fine bead. Buttery undercooked biscuit, almonds but great ripe strawberry fruit. I love this wine. Highest recommendation.

Outrageous. Literally. This 375ml has been open, recorked, and sitting in my cellar under refrigeration for 60 days. We drank the rest of it tonight for my daughters birthday and it was stellar. Honeyed apricots, perfect texture, acidity and weight. I can’t wait to drink this wine in 20 years, hopefully. Highest recommendation.

Dark garnet color. Full bodied with perfect acidity and well integrated tannin for ~10 year old wine. Nose of coffee, chocolate mousse, and cedar. Black fruit. Black cherry and black currant. Excellent texture, balance and mouthfeel. Lengthy finish. I can see how this hit 100 but for me it wasn’t overly flavorful or explosive on the bouquet so 95 is my score. But I would highly recommend trying because qpr is great.

Holiday dinner at Annie Gunn’s. Stole the show. Sent this note to Dave Sokolin to describe.

It was ideal. Coloration was barely waning. A nice dark garnet slightly lighter at the edge. Sexy silky texture, perfect tannin for the age with medium acidity. Nose was cedar, mocha and cigar box. Fruit was ample. I would call it black currant and black raspberry. The thing about the wine was the finish. Easily 1 minute maybe 130. I would give it 100 myself. Highest recommendation.

Since there were zero notes on CT I thought I would add a note for posterity. Really a good wine. Opened it, no decant, a little austere but developed into a really good village reference. Grilled herbs and spice box aromas. Great color, acidity and well integrated at 30 yrs young. I think this wine will go another 10. Brambly dried cherry fruit and a nice smoky undertone. Really nice wine. Highly recommended although not much exists anymore.

Wow. It smelled like the lobby of the Gramercy Park hotel. Dried flowers, incense, perfume, and a little glycerin nail polish. Unreal texture. Perfect acidity and tannin. Black cherry fruit, dirt road (red clay) and a lingering romantic finish. Truly an unreal wine. It will toy with 100 in a few years. Highest unequivocal recommendation.

Light golden green straw color. Rich and unctuous but with that signature bite of acidity. Delicious. Ripe pear and green apple. Nice touch of oak. Such a refined and expertly made wine, which is why roulot is legendary. Highest recommendation

Bright ruby red color and medium bodied, with This ethereal aroma that is both floral and savory with fresh cherry blossom, tea leaves, Asian spice and juniper (to me not exactly mint and not exactly forest). Great texture, acidity and smooth tannic structure at 7 years old. Bright cherry fruit and warm spice greet the palate. Long, pleasurable finish. Wow. Highest recommendation.

What a pleasant surprise. Young and vibrant. Drank at ringside in Portland OR. Medium garnet color. Medium bodied. Smooth tannin and balance. Great bouquet of tobacco, leather and spice. Fruit was still present on the palate, cassis and black raspberry. Finish was excellent. A little shy on the attack but hey it’s 54 years old. Great experience. Highly recommended and still life left in this wine.

En Magnum. At dinner at 801 Fish, STL. After the les preuses redux situation the other night I was wondering what to expect. What a great wine. Great color (light golden straw) great mouthfeel and great bouquet. Perfumed white flowers honeysuckle and ripe pear. Great zest but highly finessed. It was phenomenal on many levels. Highly recommended.

Needed thirty minutes for redux/sulphuric smell to blow off. I don’t know why people consider this to be a sign of good wine making because it’s a bad experience. BUT. After it blew off this was a nice wine. Bright (high) acidity. Medium gold /green color. Light on its feet with lemon, green apple and wet stones. I really enjoyed it but would like to see the style eliminate the sulphuric smell. Recommended

Drank a little young most likely but this wine was close to perfect. The 2013 white burgs, in my opinion, are the best of the 2010s. Girardin is a great producer and his wines have great QPR

This bottle was gone. Tried to let it wake up for an hour or so, but it was past prime and slightly cider-y. Too bad but I have two more bottles to try. We drank birth year wine at Prasino for Kelli’s birthday. For Kelli’s sake I have some 71 Dom and 71 conterminous to try in the future.
