Excellent. Wish I had decanted for longer than one hour, but didn't have time. A beast which is only beginning to emerge. Great fruit and still loads of structure.

Dark and big, but monolithic and flabby. Not worth the $80 tag IMO. Found for $40 and probably won't buy again even at half-price.

Just a wonderful QPR. Abundance of fruit and tannin....earthiness, spice....a well-rounded BDX that I love for its' value and complexity.

A young brute, filled with rich dark fruit and grippy tannins. A monster that will only reward patience.

Brought to an offline along with a 99 Herb Lamb. Although the HL blew this away, it still is unbelievably young and will most liely benefit greatly from many more years of aging. You can tell there is something terrific hiding beneath the ripe, sweet, heavy beast that is currently standing guard. Bright red and black fruits, some spice and sweet oak. Fingers crossed this becomes a classic.

Found this for $60 and took a flyer. This wine is very classy, although the poor vintage has really made it thin out and flatten a bit. Delicious, but fading a bit and not memorable.

Appeared to have slight seepage down to the label....excellent wine. Really impressive full-throttled attack yet seamless and smooth. A classy Pegau. I will refrain from opening my other bottle for a few years.

Opened to appease a friend who loves Montrose. Too young, but opened up after a couple of hours and was really a great wine. Really nice combination of fruit and acidity. Nice earthiness and structure. Those who wait will certainly be rewarded. An excellent value at $50.

Absolutely amazing...this port is right in its' prime. A great balance between rich, sweet fruit and loads of secondaries. Tar, mint, smoke, spice....quite terrific. Already bought some 375's and will seek out more 750's as this still has a long life ahead of it.

With some air, this wine opens up and is quite nice. The only beef I have is that as the primary fruit has certainly changed, I find the secondary spices and scents to be somewhat absent.

Very similar to the 2000 Reva.....open these soon! Smooth and perhaps beginning to decline, although still really fun to drink. Not terribly complex, although the Grenache has a nice tar element the Reva is lacking.

Drink 'em if you got 'em! Nice and smooth, nothing like 2003-present vintages with loads of bacon and smoke. Seems to be falling off a bit, probably a result of the vintage. Very enjoyable.

Opened this with a buddy who really wanted to try it - he gave me his Cleveland Hi-Bore 8.5 with a very nice extra-stiff shaft in exchange.

Did not disappoint! Absolutely stellar; complex, rich, spicy.......one of my favorite Napa Cabs of all time.

From magnum. Seemed to have traces of seepage, so decided to pop this sooner rather than later. Drinking very well. Excellent fruit, and smooth as silk. Nice finish. Not nearly as complex as more recent vintages, and I also wouldn't pay dearly for this vintage, but delicious nonetheless.

A little bit big for a pinot, and very sweet fruit. Still very good for what it is, even if it's not my style anymore. Seems they changed the Southing in '09 to be more Burgundian, which I believe is quite an improvement.
