7/8/22, 2:27 PM - chablis28 : sorry for delayed reply. Had lunch today with a friend who has a place in Canmore. We brainstormed and here’s suggestions.Meals in Canmore Tapas is #1, also recommended Iron Goat & Murrieta's.Golf courses, there’s multiple. Stewart Creek & Silvertip & the Canmore Muni. Nearby of course, Banff Springs & Kananaskis. Tough to get tee times, start now.A walk along the Bow River in Canmore is lovely, and the Grassi Lakes hike is great.Tons of hikes in Banff Park, recommended Johnson Canyon, Lake Louise Tea House & the Sunshine Gondola up to the alpine meadows, better be a nice day though.Kananaskis hike recommended, Widow Maker Trail from Canoe Meadows.Have fun in Canmore!Back to the Brunello. Night #2 tasted really good still, mostly black cherry kirsch & leather. Night #3 my palate was in no condition to evaluate. The wine is very approachable on day #1 with a long decant. I bought 2 more bottles to age. Enjoy this wine!
5/12/22, 8:49 PM - It wasn’t bad, just disappointing. After recent reviews my expectations were high. It just wasn’t there for me. If the heel of this bottle tomorrow changes my opinion, I’ll amend my review. And I’ve still got one bottle left, who knows, bottle variation?
11/14/21, 12:13 PM - Thanks alohashirt for the recommendation on the 2019, unfortunately it’s not yet available in our part of the world. I’ve got a couple of bottles of the 2018, which I understand isn’t great, but I haven’t tried yet.
9/10/21, 7:30 PM - Thanks Killer, the flavour of the fruit in this Syrah is excellent, not a fruit bomb, but elegant & tasty. Cellar time definitely added.BTW, I purchased a Chapoutier Hermitage Blanc earlier this year based on your tasting notes. Thanks again
2/28/21, 10:19 AM - You’re welcome. I hadn’t tried Viognier before & this really opened my eyes.If you try & like the Yalumba, an Okanagan winery called Black Hills makes a lovely Viognier. Cheers
2/19/21, 6:38 PM - My wife enjoyed more than I did.I was hoping for a bit more of a rustic style. This wine came from the Opimian Society.
2/19/21, 6:49 PM - Yes she does!Thanks
1/18/21, 2:42 PM - Interesting, I hope you are correct. Could be bottle variation too. I’ve got one more bottle slated for consumption next year. Time will tell!
12/15/20, 9:30 AM - Tasting notes look favourable.Typo on points rating?
12/15/20, 1:03 PM - Makes more sense now.I just purchased that wine yesterday on a friend’s recommendation and was disappointed to see the first review come in at 76.I’m not a big Viogner fan so we’ll see.Cheers
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
